I worked for preferred care for 2.5 years. I’ve loved my experience working for them while I was going through college and I am only moving on due to progression in my career. The team is so flexible and so accommodating of not only the employees but the clients as well. I have made some amazing connections over the years that I still keep in contact with to this day. I’ve met some amazing people within the office but with clients as well. This job gave me amazing experience and I couldn’t recommend it enough!

Cormac and his team were amazing. During a difficult and rapidly evolving time with a family member Cormac was willing to speak to me on the weekend. Even though we had yet to commit to using Preferred Care at Home, Cormac worked on scheduling caregivers anyway. We had our first caregiver arrive on Wednesday morning for a 12-hour shift. This was tremendously helpful. Cormac was empathetic, communicative, and responsive. The caregivers Lori, Noreen, and Kari were all wonderful with not only our loved one, but with us as well. I enthusiastically recommend Preferred Care at Home for the care of your loved one.

I worked for a year and a half for PCAH. They are a team of people providing care for some of our communities most vulnerable folks. This is an important job! I chose it because I wanted to feel some level of meaning in the work I was doing and it delivered. I always felt supported and heard by my bosses and it was such a pleasure to get to know people of all different walks of life within the community. I am leaving simply because it is time for a new chapter of my life but I highly recommend them if you are looking for a company that supports their staff and takes pride in providing support for others loved ones.

The owners and caregivers at Preferred Care at Home cared for our mother, at home, for the last several months of her life. The attentiveness of the owners, Cormac and Justin, along with the skilled and loving care provided by the caregivers, made it possible for our Mom to stay in her home until the end. We would not have been able to pull that off without them. The team of caregivers -- Erika, Gerri, Missy, Loretta, Amber, and Pam -- could not have been more caring, thoughtful, or respectful of our Mom as she made her way down that road. Our family grew very close to this incredible team over the months they were with us. There really aren't words to express our gratitude for helping us navigate such a tender time, for our Mom and for us.

My mom moved in with me and my family somewhat unexpectedly right at the start of the school year. For two teachers and their two young kids this was a somewhat nerve-wracking event as we knew that my mom who was in the early-mid stage of Alzheimer's would need company and engagement during the day while we were at school. The folks at Preferred Care worked really hard to set up a schedule of caregivers for my mom on very short notice so that we had people in place before we went back to school. Throughout the next year and a half, they worked to adjust mom's caregiver schedule as needed, adding shifts, adjusting timing to allow for other activities in my mom's schedule, etc. They also worked very hard to make GOOD matches with mom for her personality and interests. Mom made a number of close connections with a few caregivers including Christine and Ashley. While communication was at times spotty, especially when last minute, necessary changes needed to be made, I always found that the people at Preferred Care were responsive to any concerns and always working with mom's best interests in mind. I am very grateful for all of their efforts and help!
