My mother's decision to move to an assisted living community was not an easy one. I had been fully committed to helping her age in place, but her needs became more than we could manage, and round the clock support at home was cost prohibitive. Beyond cost, she was fairly isolated at home, even with frequent visits from my family, which was not healthy for her. She has lived at Marian for 8 months now. About 6 months in, she began describing it as the best decision she made. The caregivers are attentive and kind. She is more than satisfied with the meals and always says, "I eat well!" Her suite has everything she needs and grounds are lovely. She enjoys outings for lunch as well.<br><br>Small issues have come up here and there. I would expect this anywhere, and understand any place my mother might have moved to could have an off day. The most important thing for me is that any concerns we have shared have been promptly addressed and resolved satisfactorily without repeat occurrences.<br><br>The executive director, Joey Estrella, is very attentive to all the residents, and the leadership staff is super responsive to any questions or concerns we have. Huge shout out to Doreatha - her job is not easy and she does it with a smile every day! :) The communication I receive from Marian is thorough and timely. The care team is genuinely happy to form meaningful relationships with my mother and the other residents. That is everything to me, that my mother in her older years feels seen and valued. It's hard to trust others with that level of care, and I trust the staff at Marian.
