I've only been once to a Friday Senior's dance but it was great and found out that they serve free meals to seniors for breakfast and lunch. Who does that? Amazing if you ask me. There was no cussing or drinking at the dance and that is very important to me and I had a lot of fun. I'm sick with a rare immune disease and other problems and can't get out much but that night I had a rare good day and it really blessed me. I didn't know anyone but fit right in. The people there are warm and gracious. They have many other programs they told me about including a place for seniors with Alzheimer's to enjoy during the day and that gives overwhelmed care givers a much needed break! They have yard sales every weekend so I did go up there and donate a few things because of what they do really impressed me. Seniors can save money at these sales too which is good living on a fixed income like I am now after my husband recently passed. They even hold prayer meetings and bible study and sometimes go to churches in the area that invite them. That is very close to my heart. I believe in prayer. My faith is what gets me through the hard times. There's a craft area if you're into that and they have thier own little store inside with great little items for sale. They also have a free fitness room. Free!!! It has everything you need to work out. They have a class for seniors who enjoy acting or reading things like poems out loud and a free library. Need I say more? If you're a senior citizen 50 or over you should go!! They are doing a tremendous service. I'm proud to live in a town with people that care about us! Thank you so much for that. We matter senior citizens and if you're reading this You aren't dead yet. Don't give up on life because of age. It aint over till its over!!!
