This is my mom’s second stay at Life Care Center of Ooltewah from the hospital, She needed to strengthen her mobility after being in hospital for a week.<br>She received different therapies such as Physical Therapy and Occupational Therapy. Both is helping her body to recover quickly. The therapist’s trained her body how to move about safely and independently so that she can return home somewhat functional. Therapy she said was b<br>somewhat difficult for her because of her age (96). However, I think everyone is very pleasant and very accommodating to work with. My mom’s room was perfect for her needs. They have lots of activities going on throughout the day for the residents who are able to participate . They even have yummy ice cream daily (the good stuff) my grandson loves to visit at that time of the day. I am really glad my mom is recuperating in this particular facility.<br><br>J Looby (daughter of a patient)

This place should be under investigation. I have never been more appauld by a facility. My grandmother was here in the rehab for a weekend, in that time a nurse stole from her drawer, they REPEATEDLY didnt give her her meds (and when they finally did they would just give them ALL at once! Im talking two or more doses!) Once she was left in the bathroom and forgotten. She made it back to the bed herself because she was tired of waiting. Wanting to add that her roommate was extremely drugged up her entire stay. So weird that the roomate gets meds but not her. Also when asked about meds, they said she didnt have any that morning, she did cause a family member was there and asked for them for her, but when questioned they looked at a paper and said "oh she did it just wasn't logged." This is beyond negligence. This place only has good reviews because the people are either comatose and cant tell their story, dont have relatives that really check on them, or dead. I find it also horrid that the head nurse would say "what can we do to get you to stay" why? So you can make her kick the bucket? She also promised she would make sure she got her morning meds. Guess what, she didnt.<br><br>Coincidence (I think not), my great aunt went here after an ER visit. She stayed and got worse. She left and died shortly after. They claimed she didnt have any prescription sent over for antibiotics. The infection took her. I find it odd that not only did they skip, forget, or didnt bother with my grandmother's meds but her sister had the same happen.<br><br>If you have been around and remember a few life care facilities having banners hanging outside saying people were dying there, you more than likely wouldn't choose any of them at all. I wasn't aware of the name of the facility until it was too late, and as soon as I told my spouse he yelled "no!" Very dramatically. He told me back when he was a nurse life care was always the one being under investigation, always having deaths, more than normal. These places prey on the elderly, especially if they are not in the right mind.<br><br>Case in point, if you value your loved one, dont send them to ANY LIFE CARE!

In the time that my wife has been there, LCCO has been amazing. We've even joked about me moving in and getting a double room. LOL! The staff has made an uncomfortable situation easily manageable and we truly thank the staff.

Everyone is very professional and knowledgeable. I feel that my friend is receiving good care.
