Cardinal Senior living at Roanoke is amazing! It’s always a pleasure to interact with all of the staff! Alisha is very attentive to all residents, their family and every staff member that she leads, Jacob is not only knowledgeable in his area but is amazing with residents and family and truly enjoys participating and interacting with them. The maintenance and housekeeping team lead by John always makes sure the residents personal rooms as well as common areas are always clean and looking their best! Bessie leads the kitchen and takes pride in healthy meals for the residents! The RMA’s and caregivers are some of the best in the building! They love their residents like family! I would recommend this community to anyone!

A true home away from home with dedicated and compassionate staff who care for each resident with their heart on their sleeve. The management staff go over and beyond for the residents and families. They treat my loved one with dignity and respect and give her the best care as it was their family. Alisha is over the top the most amazing and responsive individual that I have ever met in a health care setting. She is available anytime we need her. Stacey, she is always a go getter and able to get all of our questions and concerns answered almost immediately. John, he is one that is always smiling and available when the unexpected may happen. Sandy has been great at explaining the rules and billing to us. Jacob, was nothing but great when we toured. Mallory has been nothing but kind, smiling and always asking if we need anything. Nick and Lisa are a one in a million, my loved one looks forward to hearing them and seeing them. The entire facility welcomes us, from the outdoors as we walk in being beautifully decorated for each season to the staff who warmly welcomes us daily on our visits. This facility does not have a distinct odor yet always smells great with a clean and invigorating aromas. I would hands down recommend this community to anyone.

Since I'm being forced to give stars, this dumpster fire gets one. This facility is not considered assisted living by any means. It used to be years ago but those days are gone and so are the residents who used to reside there. It's nothing but memory care. The slop they feed these people isn't fit for human consumption. The turnover rate for staffing is continuous. That applies to management as well. The nursing staff aren't paid enough for the extra duties that they incorporate along with having to do patient care. Why is the nursing staff responsible for housekeeping? Worst place ever to have a loved one. Keep your family members out of this building and take care of them at home.

Cardinal Senior in Roanoke is an awesome facility. The staff are real heroes and "S-heroes", and they work very hard to care for the residents. Mallory, Nick, Barb, Alisha, Landsey and the rest of the staff there are friendly and dedicated. I know my dad is at the right place and getting the care he deserves. They make sure he is clean. The food served there is good, and always a variety. The campus is well maintained and clean inside and and out. I LOVE the fact that the residents are mixed, and it's not a separate memory care ward -- it feels more like a community and less like a "facility" in that regard. I know because I stayed there with my dad for a week, day and night, to help him get adjusted. I got to know the place and the staff very well during that time, and they always greet me warmly when I visit today. I trust them. It's a relief to know that dad i being well cared for in a nice facility, after my mom worked as hard as she could to keep him home as long as possible. The quality of care at Cardinal is exceptionally good, and that has allowed my mom the much needed time to rest and adjust to life after being a 24/7 caregiver for more than a decade.

My mother has been a resident here for over 20 years when she had a sudden illness and found the need for assisted living. Over the years she has been loved on and cared for by many, including Jenny who is back now with Cardinal, some of those in the therapy department, Ashley who has been so good to her for so long and of course the current staff who show her genuine kindness and compassion throughout the changes in her life. Since she's been a resident here for so long, she has seen many nurses, administrators, changes in ownership and names of the building. For many of these years, she has been known as the "Resident Ambassador", a title that she holds proudly. She brags on her assisted living facility everywhere she goes and enjoys showing new residents around the building. Within the past year since Cardinal has taken over, there has been tremendous positive change that has been noticed by my entire family. My husband and sons have noticed the level of support for the patients has increased, the building has seen many improvements, the food is better and there are always activities going on. The best change for me is the increased communication, my Mom has experienced some new health challenges this year and the staff has been top notch. Cardinal staff from all shifts have called me regarding questions about my mother's care or even her personal preferences, they've called me about falls or concern for the need for her to see a doctor. Alisha has been an absolute pleasure to work with regarding meeting the needs of my mother when I can't be present, she has referred us to resources, provided reassurance to my Mom when she was upset, and personally called me after hours to communicate important information. The most significant person to notice the change is my Mom, she sees the difference and she feels loved and cared for. The staff has taken the time to know her, the food she likes, the names of her grandchildren, the clothes she prefers and everything in between. Our family is most grateful for what Cardinal has done to improve her quality of life.
