I'm so very grateful for Hollie, Jaime and the education team at James West. As a family caregiver of a parent with Alzheimer's Disease, I was struggling. Mom's neurologist gave me zero information regarding the changes and decline ahead. The education team and support group saved me. They gave me hands on solutions and honest expectations of the difficult tasks ahead. The James West team has changed my caregiving for the better. They are priceless.

Regular nursing homes are too dangerous for dementia patients. Fortunately, there is James L West Center for Dementia Care. The care provided for our father was exceptional. Their patient to caregiver ratio is around 4-1 while your typical nursing home is going to be around 18-1 or even as high as 24-1. There’s no way a regular nurse by home can provide superior care for your loved one with such inadequate staffing. Our stress level just about evaporated after our dad was admitted to JL West. What a relief it was to know that he was being closely monitored and so well cared for. My siblings and I visited him every day and became very fond of the staff. My best advice is to never trust the dementia care of your loved one to a regular nursing home (especially if it’s in North Richland Hills). When we moved dad to JL West (at the recommendation of our hospital case manager) we immediately noticed the superior care he was receiving. The staff was well engaged with him. Dad was happy with his surroundings and how nice everyone was to him. The staff doctor was always available to answer questions and to keep us updated on his treatment plan. JL West gave us peace of mind.

We moved my dad here after he spent time at 2 other dementia care centers. James L West has been a breath of fresh air! I didn’t even know to expect some of the wonderful ways they take care of dad! He’s very happy here, has friends and fun activities. They take good care of him and involve the family in his care. It is expensive but also so much better than our other experiences at the other memory cares!
