Homeland Center

Homeland Center is a licensed not-for-profit Continuing Care Retirement Community in Harrisburg, Pennsylvania, with roots dating back to 1867. As the organization approaches its 160th anniversary in 2027, it continues a long tradition of care that began with 18 women who launched the institution.

The community offers a full continuum of senior care services, including personal care designed to help residents live as independently as possible while assisting with daily tasks, and skilled nursing care available 24/7 for residents needing short- or long-term assistance. Homeland Center also provides memory care in a safe, compassionate setting for residents experiencing advancing memory loss, along with physician-directed short-term rehabilitation to help residents recover from various conditions.

Beyond residential care, Homeland extends its services into the community through Homeland Hospice, which delivers hospice care, palliative care, physician-ordered medical care, and daily non-medical assistance to patients in the comfort of their own homes. These services aim to provide comfort and relief from the symptoms and stress of serious illness, while helping patients and families make the most of every moment, and enabling clients to live independently and safely at home with individualized care.

Homeland Center maintains an active community life with meaningful traditions, such as chapel ceremonies where residents and visitors gather, including remembrance services involving veterans and flag ceremonies. The organization also fosters philanthropic engagement through groups like the 1867 Society, whose members help sustain Homeland's legacy, and community outreach events such as an annual 5K and Memory Walk that support hospice services like massage, music, and bereavement therapy.
