The staff is amazing. Very friendly, loving and caring. The place is clean and doesn’t smell. My mom loves the activities and she gets to go shopping. I don’t understand why this isn’t a 5 star facility. It is in me eyes. I just visited a place in Pueblo. A nursing home. Or a rehabilitation facility. I did not like it but it had 4.2 stars. I give that place a 2 stars. Hildebrand Care Center is a great facility! My son and I eat with my mom every time we visit her. The food okay. Some things are better than others. But we don’t have a problem with it. And the wait staff is amazing. And they are great with the patients. I’ve seen their interactions!!

As an independent contractor who travels southern Colorado and spends a lot of time in different facilities, I can wholeheartedly say that Hildebrand Care Center in Canon City, Co is one of the good ones. Not only is the facility always clean and well kept, but the staff members in all departments are not only extremely kind, but it is very apparent that they are there FOR the residents. It is not just a job to them, they put a lot of LOVE, care and compassion into their work. Hildebrand truly feels like you’re at home and the staff does an exceptional job collectively every day to make it such a friendly home-like environment For the patients and family members. As far as the nursing department goes, I can honestly say I’ve never been at a facility that is so hands-on. I mean everybody is VERY willing to help Whether it’s a busy nurse at her med cart or an Activity assistant walking by. The restorative CNA‘s are phenomenal As they have a heavy workload themselves, but are almost always tentative in the dining room during meals and willing to stop and help with transfers if needed etc. because everyday CNA work load can be extremely heavy at times as well. It’s relieving to say the least. Everybody offers help in someway or another regardless of what department they work in or What current task they are on. As the ‘care-taker’, I have never felt alone and I look forward going back there.🙂

My dad was here a few months. At first I didnt think it was that bad and the staff seemed nice, But every time I would drive down from Denver somethig else would be bad. They wouldn't know where he was (the place was huge), they had him just sitting at the nurses station with nothing to do, there would be trash cans catching rain in the hallways, he would be lost in another hallway, or he had fallen again. We decided to move him out and he couldnt walk to help transfer himself, unlike when we moved him in. He was in intense pain, and once we moved him into the new facility they immediately discovered that he had a broken hip, 6 cracked ribs, and a fractured vertebrae. After two weeks in the hospital he was much better, but the damage had been done. Months later and I don't think we will ever get his strength back so he can have more freedom. Whatever you do, don't send your loved one here. My dad is a Veteran and he deserved better than this.

My mom lived in Hildebrand for almost 2 years before she passed away. We are incredibly thankful for the care and attention she received while there. Being we have many years of experience with facilities (my mom was in and out of them for 40+ years) this is by far the nicest option in Cañon City for your loved ones who need full time nursing care. The staff are great to work with. Thank you Hildebrand Care Center!
