I cannot express enough the amazing care that both of my parents received at this facility. The staff is amazing. Anytime I would call with any questions, the nurses station always answer the phone and took the time to explain things for me. When I would visit, the staff acknowledge me and was always very kind. My mother loved it there as did my dad. They treat their residence with so much care and kindness. If I could give more than five stars, I would

my grandmother is currently starving to death in this facility and cannot even swallow a tylenol for her rheumatoid arthritis. she has not eaten in 6 days and it is unclear how much water is made available to her. these are symptoms of a blockage in her esophagus, not a natural end of life appetite reduction. these are things two workers at this facility said to me today: "when older people are dying, they do not feel hunger pains like we do. you see how you can't hear her stomach growling? she doesn't even feel hungry." "she is resting peacefully but we can give her medication at your request." i am astonished at the lack of compassion and the seeming lack of understanding of bodies. my grandmother is suffering because no one explained to her children what it would mean to take their advice and forgo surgery and a feeding tube, and because for some reason the staff here think that starving to death is painless and peaceful when you're of a certain age.

We put my dad there w/hospice. It’s clean, people and staff very nice. However, we would notice my dad in same clothes as day before. Went 12/24/22 to visit him. My sister noticed his finger tips blue and I said “he laboring to breath”. Nurse came in said that’s normal. After we left, hospice called and said he had a few hours. I felt like they didn’t pay much attention to him. Also he fell out of bed 3 times & at times he had clothes on that wasn’t his. RIP Dad 💔

Had the privilege of being there 2 times post Hip surgeries. The staff was exceptional from Aids, nurses, and Therapy staff. Last But by far not least the chefs and food they prepare was exceptional. Maybe not what you would normally eat but was always Healthy and excellent. I would highly recommend this Facility if you have the opportunity to use. Can be hard to get into so plan ahead.

This is the second time that I've had to come to Hennis Care Center in Bolivar to recover from a medical procedure. The first time was 6 years ago and the facilities and staff both exceeded my expectations back then. I was anxious to see how if any things have changed over the last 6 years. I am pleased to say things haven't changed much at all. The facilities have been updated and there are some new faces on the staff but the commitment too friendly, professional, first class service remains the Same as I remember. The nurses and aides were attentive and sociable. Physical therapy was, while demanding at times, a supportive, cooperative effort. You could tell they really wanted to see you get better. The food (for a hospital type establishment) was surprisingly good. There was some variety to the menu and most of the items were pretty decent.
