I can’t speak to the assisted living aspect side of HarborChase, but I would not recommend the Memory Care facility to anyone. Despite the Memory Care branding, you’re renting a room and paying for meals. The nursing team cannot manage the most common behaviors of dementia and Alzheimer’s patients, such as bathing, feeding and incontinence care. After my father was assessed and approved by the team as a fit, we were told we needed to bring in a private caretaker - a separate financial obligation - while he resided in the facility. Business is business, but this is not the solution for families that are truly seeking support, compassion and reliability while navigating this awful disease.
