My mom has lived at HarborChase for a few months. She is thriving there. There have been some changes in leadership and management at different levels, but Wanda, Darlene, and Lynn run the facility really well and are always trying to find ways to make things better. I think there could be more staff, but that is more on the owners than the local management. The residents are mostly happy and all look well cared for. Do they complain? Of course...they have a lot of time on their hands! The food quality is inconsistent, but the chef tries hard. He is very personable. The dining room gets messy at busy times, with plates remaining on the table after the residents are finished, and making it difficult for other people coming in to find a place at the table. I wish there was more entertainment brought in, so if the owners are reading this, maybe you can give more money to this line item in the budget. Many of the residents would love to listen to speakers who are subject matter experts on a variety of topics. Live music would be a great addition. I love that there is a happy hour everyday! It is great that there is van transportation for the residents if they need to go to shops or medical appointments or to get their hair or nails done. There are also weekly outings to restaurants which is fantastic. The staff tries to honor religious observances in the decor and dining room, which is really appreciated. The staff that takes care of my mom on a daily basis is excellent, always friendly and helpful. The location is also really nice because it is very close to shopping, banks, restaurants, and doctors. Everything in Olney is very convenient.
