As soon as you walk inside the doors you are greeted. My mom lived at Good Shepherd Nursing Home for over two years. The staff became her extended family sharing fun and laughter. Teamwork is truly the core of this care team. For their residents and residents families they are willing to listen and go beyond to make all cared for and safe in their home away from home. Thanks to all. God bless

Good Shepherd Home provided exemplary care for our mother. The staff is compassionate, caring, and treat the residents with dignity and respect. We searched many facilities and this by far was the best-both in terms of staff and the facility itself.

VERY UNWELCOMING AND DISCOURAGING OF VISITORS!!! Where to start, they are working with outdated COVID protocols. They have an elementary school-ish poster board at the door with an outdated map showing Wisconsin in various shades of red COVID danger. Keep in mind Outagamie county had only nine new cases today and that has been the trend for several weeks. Appointments are required to visit because you have to fill out multiple pages of paperwork and take a test prior to being able to enter. After testing negative you then are required to wear masks AND goggles. I understand these are in place for the safety of the residents, but my sister and I are both vaccinated and boosted. Can we show our cards and maybe not have to jump through so many hoops? To make matters worse, the appointment we made was useless because no one at Good Shepherd wrote it down. Why have these protocols in place if they don't even follow them? Originally the plan was to discharge my father to mine or my sister's home, but the hospital recommended swing bed so he could have easier access to rehab. He's been there three days and rehab briefly worked with him ONCE. When my sister tried to walk the halls with him today she was rudely told by a staff member that "Guests have to stay in the rooms.". Seriously? She's masked, GOGGLED and just tested negative for COVID at your door. She's trying to help rehab my father and they are scolded and relegated back to his room. He's going to be lucky not to lose his progress while staying in this one star facility. It looks nice, but appearances are deceiving. Rude staff and COVID protocols that predate the vaccine make this a very unwelcoming facility that discourages visitors and treat their residents like prisoners.

The covid protocols are ridiculous. I followed the rules and called to make an appointment to visit my dad. I went for the visit and they weren't going to let me in as there was no record I had called. They finally allowed me to visit. My dad is there for rehab, after an hour of visiting he was stiff and wanted to walk around. We walked down the hallway and were reprimanded for leaving his room. We will be bringing him home asap. I have been vaccinated and boosted and passed a rapid test at the door. I don't mind following rules but if you make a rule follow through with it, such as making a note of my appointment.
