My goal in writing this is to be an advocate for everyone who is going through the challenges of seeking care for a loved one and to prevent them from going through a disappointing and stressful situation like we had. This facility is unable and unwilling to care for ambulatory dementia patients. In our experience, we were told that they are able to take all types of patients but then on multiple occasions they failed to keep our loved one safe. The only measures they were willing to try were medications and 15 minute checks. During our 30-day review, elopement was briefly discussed but not emphasized. Two weeks later the big event occurred. Our loved one was able to elope the facility and found by an off duty staff member walking down the road. Three days later the ultimatum of 30-day notice or 24/7 caregiver came. Since the facility was unwilling to try other methods and unable to ensure safety we quickly found another facility and have moved our loved one. The director has poor bedside manner and lacks empathy. I would not recommend this facility to anyone and feel deeply saddened for the residents left behind.
