My grandparents have been in and out of facility various times over the last few months. My elderly grandfather was admitted back into this facility a little over a week ago. After a few days, we started to notice he was hallucinating, which is very abnormal for him. We requested a test for a UTI on Friday and was told we couldn’t get those services until Monday (this was not the first time we were told basic services like this until Monday). Come Thursday, we still hadn’t heard the UTI results and my grandfather was still hallucinating. We had him admitted back into the hospital where he tested positive for a UTI and his kidneys are severely impacted along with severe high dehydration. All of this was causing his hallucinations. After only a day at the ER he has already started coming back to his regular self. I called the German Centre to update them on the condition of my grandfather as a direct result of their care and their response was saying "He is no longer here and we can't give you information as you're not the proxy". While that remains true, I was not requesting information I was informing the staff of his severe condition as a direct result of their negligence. They didn't care to hear it. Do not send your loved ones here.

I am reposting my review as the administrator confronted my family member about my previous review and said it needed to be taken down. This was a concerning red flag and frankly quite inappropriate to approach a patient and to do this! My concerns are: lack of response (if any) to call buttons, the night staff’s disrespectful behavior to patients and lack of supervision, disorganized discharge planning with little to no verbal communication on last day and lack of training to new staff. I can’t believe I even have to write this. I’m saddened and disturbed by what was witnessed. Please advocate for your loved ones.

My uncle had a bad fall and weakness over a year ago. He initially was admitted to the German Centre in West Roxbury for rehab. From the moment we arrived the staff have been so kind and helpful. Unfortunately he failed physical therapy and we started the process of becoming a nursing home resident. He has been there for a year. It’s never easy for someone to accept that things their new home but I want to highly commend every staff member on the 2nd floor of the German Centre. Either my sister or myself visit every day. The facility is well maintained, clean and they are so attentive to the residents. Jen the social worker is so kind and informative. She helped us through the process. Lauren at the desk goes out of her way to visit my uncle and make him smile. The nurses Courtney, Jane, Marie and Margaret are friendly and so helpful even when my uncle is not. The nursing assistants know my uncle and anticipate what he needs and help him every day. I’ve been a nurse for 37 yrs and have been many facilities, the German Centre is amazing. So clean and bright. The front desk staff Chris and Michelle welcome us with bright smiles. They have so Many activities and make the seasons fun. If you ever need a rehab or nursing home please give the German Centre a look, you will not be disappointed. I highly recommend this wonderful facility with great people.

I can’t say enough good things about this nursing home. The staff here are truly amazing — attentive, caring, and always willing to go above and beyond to help. From the nurses to the aides and everyone in between, they treat residents with such kindness and respect. You can tell they genuinely care about the people they serve. Every time I visit, I feel a sense of comfort knowing my loved one is in great hands. Thank you to the entire team for your compassion, patience, and dedication — it makes all the difference!

With all the negative reviews, I'm surprised you are still open for business. The care (or lack thereof) my late mother received was deplorable. I (along with my sisters) were with her 5-6 days a week for several hours and not once did an aide or a nurse come in to see if she needed anything. She was unable to eat, drink or go to the bathroom on her own due to her declining health. She laid in bed while she needed all of the above. I'm holding your facility responsible for her being left unattended, verbally abused and neglected by your entire staff. You, as the CEO, should be having regular meetings with your entire staff (case manager, nurses, doctors, and especially the aides) as to how to take care of the residents in your facility as they are your most important responsibility.
