George Washington health and rehab is a terrible nursing home one of the nurses ripped multiple holes in my anus when she was repeatedly jamming a rectal catheter in me she kept messing up saying oops pulling it out and jamming it back in was so painful. I have had two surgeries already for the damage she caused and the damages are not fixable I have ropes through the holes now for the rest of my life and I'm only in my 40s, do not trust these people with your care. I was there for physical therapy after I had a stroke now I have permanent injuries to my anus. I feel like I've been sexually abused never had any problems with my ass. This facility should be shut down if they sexually abused their patients like this they did it to me in my 40s how many elderly patients have they done this to? I am so devastated they let a nurse like that abuse my body especially without another medical worker there to witness what she was attempting to do

★★★★☆ A Caring Rehabilitation Experience with Some Truly Exceptional Staff After an extended hospital stay, my mother-in-law needed inpatient rehabilitation before returning home. After researching several facilities and reading reviews, our family chose George Washington Health and Rehabilitation Center. We were apprehensive at first, but Sally and Regina reassured us, and we are thankful they did. Several staff members provided what we consider truly **5-star care and service**: Regina, Activities Director, and Angie, Assistant Activities Director – Their kindness and positive spirit helped keep my mother-in-law engaged. She loved bingo, popcorn, puzzles, and the other activities. Sally – Reassured our family, answered our questions, and helped us feel comfortable with our decision. Evans – Kind, helpful, and always willing to assist. Fatima, RN – We always felt comfortable knowing she was caring for my mother-in-law. That sense of trust means a great deal to a family. Antoine – My mother-in-law ate very well during her stay, which was important to us, and he provided us with copies of the menus. Ameen, Social Worker – Helped ensure a smooth transition home and coordinated the services and care she would need. Tina – My mother-in-law said Tina gave her the best bath ever! Those personal touches matter. Jason, Physical Therapist – Motivated her to get moving and even got her exercising on the bike. Moshe and Louisa, Occupational Therapists – Moshe taught us how to safely assist her at home, while Louisa had us practice transfers as though we were getting her in and out of our car. That practical preparation gave us confidence about bringing her home. Dorian, Speech Therapist – Reminded my mother-in-law that exercising her brain was just as important as exercising her body. She especially enjoyed reciting one of her favorite Scriptures with him. There were also a couple of night-shift staff members whose names we unfortunately did not get who were very attentive and kind. The physical, occupational, and speech therapy teams were outstanding —professional, knowledgeable, encouraging, and genuinely invested in my mother-in-law’s recovery. Just as importantly, they prepared our family for caring for her safely at home. The Center is undergoing significant renovations that should greatly enhance the facility. Our only recommendation would be to better manage renovation work around residents’ sleeping hours, as some work occurred very early or later than we would have preferred. We also experienced some slower call-button response times during portions of the overnight shift, and there were occasions when lights were turned on without warning while my mother-in-law was sleeping. For elderly residents recovering from hospitalization, rest and gentle nighttime interactions matter. In fairness, we recognize that we could have raised these concerns with management sooner and given them an opportunity to address them. These issues are why we gave 4 stars instead of 5, but they do not overshadow the many positive experiences we had. Overall, we are grateful our family chose George Washington Health and Rehabilitation Center. Most importantly, we are thankful for those who treated my mother-in-law with **kindness, dignity, patience, and compassion** during an important time in her recovery. To Regina, Angie, Sally, Evans, Fatima, Antoine, Ameen, Tina, Jason, Moshe, Louisa, Dorian, and all the other staff who cared for her—thank you. Your work matters, and our family noticed and appreciated it.

I AM HERE NOW.I GOT HERE 9:50 PM ON MONDAY AND WAS READY TO LEAVE.THE SUPERVISOR TALK WITH ME SAYING"GIVE US A CHANCE".AFRICIAN MALE WORKED THAT NITE AND NOW DAYS IS SUPERB.THAT SMILE EVERYTIME I SEE HIM.GREETING.EXCEPT FOR THE TALL FEMALE IN SHIFT OF AROUND 4:50,IN MORNING COMING IN PULLING MY COVER RIGHT OFF MY HEAD.THAT PERSON I TO THE UTMOST"JESUS"SAVES.I DONT KNOW WHERE I AM,GETTING MYSELF SETTLED AND THIS FEMALE GIANT SNATCHES OFF MY COVER.BOTH MY FISTS WERE BALLED UP AND I SAID TO HER"HAVE YOU LOST YOUR MINE?IF YOU MUST CHECK ON A PATIENT TO SEE IF THEY ARE ALIVE,BREATHING,THAT IS NOT HOW YOU DO IT.TAP THE FEET FROM THE SIDE,CALL THE NAME STATE YOU CHECKING ON ME BECAUSE YOUR NEW ETC.I DONT WANT HER NEAR ME.THEN I GOT HER AGAIN,ASKED FOR SOME ICE CHIPS,GUESS SHE DIDNT LIKE THE LOOK I GAVE HER,SO SHE GRUNT"UUN"LIKE SHE IN PAIN,TOLD HER IF YOU IN PAIN GO HOME,AND DONT COME IN HERE FOR ME,ATTITUDE YOU NOT NEEDED HERE.THE MAJORITY OF STAFF,PT/OPT HAVE BEEN VERY PATIENT WITH ME.I AM NOT MYSELF.I WAS AT A SHELTER BEFORE MY SURGERY,I CANT AFFORD TO LIVE OR HAVE A BED HERE,SO I DONT KNOW WHAT I WILL DO.DONT NEED TO BE IN SHELTER AFTER TWO BLOOD CLOTS OFF THE HEART.PRAYER IS NEEDED,AGAIN.I AM TIRED NOW SO THANK YOU.

Low level care, physical therapy failed my mother by not treating her as an individual And not taking into account everything that was involved in her recovery. My mother entered the facility, walking with assistance to not walking at all! Poor communication among staff, nurses, aids, and family members For a facility that talked about discharge every week when it came to discharging my mother, everything that was needed was not in place; such as proper paperwork and after health care instructions wheelchair, etc. Giving it one star because there was only one individual at the facility who was helpful in my mother‘s Daily care PT was sloppy with wheelchair parts left in room under bed in bathrooms tripping Hazzard on a daily basis! Cleaning staff minimal. I highly do not recommend!

The admissions representative was welcoming, knowledgeable, and genuinely cared about making the process as smooth and stress-free as possible. They took the time to answer all of my questions, explained everything clearly, and kept me informed every step of the way.
