My experience at this facility reflects serious and persistent failures in management and supervisory accountability. Leadership appeared consistently disorganized and reactive rather than proactive, with little visible structure or effective oversight guiding daily operations.

Under management and supervisors, there was a noticeable lack of accountability when it came to addressing resident needs and maintenance issues. Concerns that should have been handled promptly were often delayed or seemingly deprioritized, including matters that raised legitimate concerns about safety and proper care standards.

Communication from leadership was frequently inconsistent, and follow-through on commitments was unreliable, which contributed to ongoing frustration for both residents and families. From what I observed, staff were often left without clear direction, which resulted in confusion, inefficiency, and a lack of coordination in care delivery.

Overall, the issues in my experience included both individual incidents and broader patterns of poor leadership and weak accountability. While some problems were specific and situational, there was also a recurring pattern of ineffective supervision and management practices that significantly impacted operations and resident experience. I believe meaningful improvement would require serious changes in management structure, oversight, and communication practices.

My Mom was a resident for 2 years. Moving a parent to assisted living is a challenging thing but Village Walk made this experience easier for my mom and family. The facility is clean and the staff is excellent. The people at the front desk remember your name and greet you on your way in. The nurses and aides took great care of my Mom. We are grateful to Village Walk and I would recommend them.

The state board needs to pop up on the 4th floor during day and night shift. It's the memory care locked unit. The residents are treated horribly. Physically and verbally abused. Place hidden cameras in your families private areas!! The truth will come out.

I and my siblings searched a lot of places on eastern Long Island for a place for our older sister whose health was failing. She was living in her home of 50 years by herself and could no longer care for herself. I and my siblings live nowhere near her, so were grateful for the assistance given by Village Walk to 1) assess her in the hospital, 2) get her to their facility, 3) be VERY patient (financially) while we sold her home to have the means to support her care for many years. If you read anything about "care levels" you will learn that MANY places cannot provide assistance beyond a single aid to get in and out of bed, dress, participate in activities - without moving to full nursing care. VW provides my sister with "Hoyer Lift" assistance in and out of bed to wheelchair and to/from MANY provided daily activities. Other places require moving between facilities to go to/from this kind of care. I.e. It's a BIG DEAL! At this point, I think my sister would describe Village Walk as " a fun place to be!" even in her wheelchair-bound condition. It's a clean, homelike place in a nice downtown area with LOTS of daily activities ALL day. And the food is great, even for visitors like me, and I like to eat!

The Village Walk was the best thing that could have happened to my 88 year old cousin. They have a terrific Staff and they are taking such wonderful care of her. We were working with a very limited budget and the Village Walk was the only one that would work with me until I could sell her apartment. Her room is beautiful and bright! Thank You Village Walk, I finally have peace of mind.
