If I could leave zero stars, I would. An absolute joke of a facility. They advertise themselves as dog friendly, but shortly after a friend arrived, they passed a rule that dogs were no longer allowed in common areas. They claim to care about the comfort of their residents, but again, recently passed a rule that no food or drink were allowed in common areas (so residents can’t even sip a coffee or soda in the common room). They claim to provide opportunities for socialization, but again, recently passed a rule forbidding games in the common areas that aren’t puzzles. When residents discussed concerns about these issues in a private residence, management called them and warned them to shut their mouths. Clearly, residents are like the outdated decor on the walls: better seen and not heard. If you care for your loved ones, and don’t care for coercion, STAY FAR AWAY!!!

For the most part it is a safe healthy environment. The residents are nice. The staff is good. The dining hall situation...they make her pay $150 for the Cafe each month, it does not roll over. You don't use it, you lose it. On the upside the food is okay, service is good.

My mom has been very happy at Richfield. She started off in the independent apartments, and gradually moved to the Oaks as the level of care she needed increased. While no nursing home facility is perfect, at Richfield the majority of the staff DO seem to care. And that counts for something.
