My mother was at Keil Health Center for ten days earlier this year. Inattentive and response time was awful. Medications were mismanaged.

If sending a loved one to the rehab facility there, think hard about it first. If your loved one is not bedridden, they may be fine. My mother had an almost 3 month stay there following surgery. A few employees went above and beyond but they were very few. Nurses spend more time socializing with each other than caring for patients. Some CNAs were amazing and compassionate, others were cold. My mom developed bed sores and nothing was done about her chronic upset stomach. She was fed lactose against instruction and medication was not given in the time frame needed to treat it. After arriving back home, her upset stomach is completely manageable now. She had a condition that needed prescription medication to stop it. The physician at Franke's did nothing to investigate the cause. It was preventable. My mom now suffers from PTSD from being left unattended for long time periods and having to sit in dirty diapers. Physical therapy easily dismissed her there. She has continued PT at home and has made huge improvements, proving that she had not plateaued. Management does not want to hear your concerns. The floor was not kept clean in her room. This place came recommended but sadly was disappointing.

My wife and I have been residents of the Active Lifestyle Community for more than five years. Franke at Seaside is a well run, well maintained facility. The staff are friendly and cooperative. The biggest, and most pleasant, surprise has been the residents themselves, who are welcoming and inclusive.

Our mother spent almost a month in the rehab section of Franke at Seaside and received excellent care! Franke has a team approach to treatment and addressed all of her issues, making progress with several health concerns she’s had for years. We were impressed with everyone we met: the doctors, nurses, PTs, OTs, aides, social worker, and dining service. The team met as a group to map out her treatment plan, monitor progress, and determine when she went home, as well as her future needs. Our mother is feeling better and is more hopeful. This is what healthcare should be and we are grateful!

The Keil Healthcare Center is Honorable, the Rehab staff is cold, without compassion. Most of the nursing staff have the face in computers all day. They are completely unequipped to deal with elderly patients with memory issues. We could not wait to get our mother out of there. Run from this place if it is recommended to you.
