My mom was put in memory care January 2026. I thought she was in good hands. As time goes along we learned to contact hospice for extra help. I have to constantly keep an eye on these people. We ordered mom a memory phone so she can call her family. Through her phone I have learned what courtyard does and doesn't do for her. They reprimand her for pushing her button when she needs assistance, will let her sit and soil herself due to poor service. They keep the doors locked so they cannot go in their rooms or take naps. If you are in a wheelchair good luck getting help when you need it. they have all kinds of excuses. Oh we had an emergency or we are understaffed misc.... She shares a room $5700 a month. the roommate has most of the room it is not equally shared. Oh I could go on but I won't.

I have lived at the Courtyard at McHenry for 3 yrs and would like commend the incredible staff-management, caregivers, nurses, kitchen staff, housekeepers and maintenance for all the endless hours they spend making this facility the most wonderful place to live. Thank you doesn’t seem like a big enough word for all that they do to make living here feel like home.

Self enclosed community, stand alone building bright wide hallways, places to gather, light in all rooms from the courtyard And a closed hallway in a rectangle that surrounds the courtyard. Perfect for residents who want to walk/ wander without having to be continually redirected. The staff is very friendly, there are daily events organized by the activity director to help keep the residents engaged and social. The administrative staff is very accessible, the food is very good, and the building and rooms are very clean. I feel secure knowing my husband is well taken care of here.
