My father was admitted to Focused Care at Cedar Bayou for hospice care in February 2026 and passed in early March 2026. While there were some caring individual staff members, our overall experience was extremely difficult and frustrating during an already emotional time for our family. Communication was one of the biggest issues. We frequently struggled to get updates, follow-up responses, or clear answers from nursing staff and administration. Requests would often be acknowledged but not followed through on unless family members repeatedly advocated in person. Medication coordination was also inconsistent at times. We had to repeatedly ask about comfort medications and pain management, and there were delays in getting medications administered after being ordered. We often felt that our family had to closely monitor and push for basic follow-through. The facility itself generally kept my father clean and accommodated some meal preferences, and there were individual hospice staff members who showed compassion. However, the lack of proactive communication and responsiveness from the facility created a great deal of additional stress for our family during end-of-life care. Families considering this facility should be prepared to advocate heavily for their loved one, ask frequent questions, document everything, and follow up persistently.

Not sure how they earned 4.6 starts. It actually blows my mind. For one, my grandma is actually having to look into going to a nursing home now after being at their facility because they didn’t give her the care that she needed. Right after her brain surgery, she ended up at Pam rehabilitation in clear lake. She could literally stand up on her own walk in the hallway by her room when we were leaving she was able to get in the car on her own and walk from the car to her apartment and she lives in senior living so that involves like walking through a lobby and hallways to get where her apartment. Her legs were still stiff so her insurance decided that she could go back to a rehab facility to get even more care so make sure that she can get on track. But they barely came in and did any kind of physical therapy with her, and when we picked her up from that facility, she could not even stand up on her own. She can’t walk at all she can’t go To the bathroom on her own. She can’t even get up to heat food up in the microwave to feed herself if someone can’t physically bring her food she starves. While we’re in the process of trying to get her into this nursing home, she’s literally living on her couch and can’t move from it. On top of all that the staff is rude as hell. I went there to see my grandma when she was first brought in never been there before in my life and everyone was so rude. I mean everyone I walked right past somebody at the check in area Because they literally have like a wrap in the center that makes you feel like that’s where you go talk to somebody so I asked that person where I sign in and it turns out it was back with the other person who didn’t bother to tell you “hey you have to sign in here” Then she starts just walking away and I’m like “ Excuse me, I don’t know what room she’s in” “who” for one I had already said it and wrote it in the book but okay I told her and does she look in a computer nope she literally screams at the top of her lungs across the facility “WHAT ROOM IS * IN” . Then just speed tells me the code for front door instead of writing it down on a sticky note kindly telling me I would need it to enter and exit the building. Then we find out that my grandma’s TV wasn’t playing any picture And just sound so I went up to the front to tell the person and the lady Felt the need to tell me that she doesn’t know how to fix stuff like that. And I was just so confused like why are you acting like I’m telling you to go in there and fix it whenever you’re just an employee that works here and I’m somebody just simply reporting an issue to you. You don’t think that you would know the proper person to report that to, to get it fixed why would you automatically treat the person like they’re expecting you to go in there and fix it? Their attitudes literally made no sense. I just walked in there for the first time ever and they didn’t know me from atom but someone how we’re already mad and annoyed.

I would like to commend on the great service I've always received from one of your employees by the name of Marni Chaidez. She is a top notch employee in my sight...period. I know that she can't handle all my request but one thing I do know that she will forward to the correct department. She's always of great service to me and always accommodating. Job well done !!! Thank you S. Warren
