During her stay at Allenbrook, our family witnessed treatment that we believe was cruel, neglectful, and completely lacking in compassion. Administrator Genacie Bates failed to show proper concern for her emotional and physical wellbeing, even though it was obvious she was suffering from severe anxiety and serious medical issues, including wounds that required careful attention and support. Instead of creating a safe and comforting environment for someone already struggling emotionally and physically, they made her feel isolated and unwanted. Despite her severe anxiety, they would not allow her husband to stay with her for support and reassurance. This only increased her fear, emotional distress, and sense of abandonment during a time when she was already vulnerable. At one point, staff claimed they were “skilled” and moved her to C Hall. The room she was placed in did not feel like a proper patient room at all. It looked more like a jail cell than a healthcare environment. There was equipment and storage kept inside the room, making it feel cold, degrading, and unsuitable for any patient, especially someone dealing with anxiety and medical complications. No patient should be made to feel hidden away or treated like they are less important than others. She remained there until the weekend before CNAs finally moved her back out of that room. Our family believes she should never have been placed there in the first place. The emotional effect it had on her was obvious. She felt scared, isolated, and treated as though she did not matter. What disturbed our family even more was what happened after she was sent to the hospital for the last time. While she was hospitalized, the administrator contacted her not to sincerely check on her health, wellbeing, or recovery but instead to ask whether she would be returning. To our family, it felt as though the main concern was giving away her room rather than caring about whether she survived or recovered. The lack of empathy shown throughout her stay was heartbreaking. A facility trusted with caring for vulnerable people should treat patients with dignity, respect, and humanity. Instead, our family feels she was treated as an inconvenience rather than a person who deserved compassion, comfort, and proper care. We believe Administrator Genacie Bates and the director of nursing at Allenbrook failed her both emotionally and medically. The way she was treated caused unnecessary suffering, emotional trauma, and lasting pain for both her and our family. No patient should ever be made to feel abandoned, ignored, or pushed aside while fighting for their health and wellbeing.

My father has been living at this facility for almost a year now and I have been very pleased with the staff; everyone from the Janitors to Corporate Staff and of course, all the nurses. It feels great knowing he is in a safe place and being taken care of.

My name is Ray Latour I'm a resident of Focus care at Allenbrook nursing home. I've been here since November 2025, I've had a great experience here so far. I feel like the staff here is very hard working and attentive. We have a lot of freedom to come and go as we please so that's a plus. I do think that the food can be a little better. Ice should be passed out in a timely manner. But overall I'm happier here because I'm close to my family.

Our loved one was brought here after a fall. Everyone from medical to social care provided fully informed and caring professional care. They aided not only our loved one but also the family in how to best help our loved one navigate this situation. Fortunately through their excellent care we are able to make the move to a step down care. Which they enabled us in everyone to navigate successful. You will feel informed and skilled in how to walk a new season with your loved one. And peace in the level of attentive skilled care they will receive in your absence. Thank you Allenbrooke Focused Care.
