About Emerald Nursing and Rehab Mercy

Emerald Nursing & Rehabilitation Mercy provides skilled and long-term nursing care to residents of the greater Mercy Region. The community's staff includes many long-tenured healthcare professionals, with some employees having served for more than three decades, reflecting a stable and experienced care team.

The community operates its own in-house rehabilitation department, allowing residents recovering from joint replacement surgery, stroke, cardiac events, or illness to work with the same familiar team of physical, occupational, and speech therapists throughout their stay. An individualized plan of care is developed for each patient, identifying specific medical and physical needs and strengths, with an interdisciplinary team coordinating rehabilitative nursing, social services, and dietary support.

Medical attention is available around the clock, with a physician present in-house throughout the week and on call during weekends. Nursing staff are trained in both medical management and rehabilitation to support the transition from hospital to home.

Amenities include spacious private rooms, gourmet dining with personalized menus, and patio areas where residents can spend time outdoors. These features are designed to enhance the recovery process for both short-term rehabilitation and long-term nursing residents.

Emerald Nursing & Rehab Mercy focuses on developing both the physical and emotional potential of its residents, aiming to support individuals whether they are pursuing short-term rehabilitation or longer-term nursing care.

My sister is back after being sent to the ER due to lack of care the first time she was in rehab. She says the rehab and nursing care are outstanding. The care tech that are hired in are terrible. She has not had a shower in a week. They kept telling her they would be back to give her a shower, so she sat painfully in a wheelchair waiting, but everyday the techs keep putting it off until their shift change. Her nurse won't change her bandages until she is cleaned up. She has had major infections, yet they won't clean her? Also her wound vac canister was full, and after several requests from the nurses to order a new canister, it was denied by the doctor who hasn't even looked at it. If your trust your nurses as your eyes, then why not listen to thier recommendations? Horrible care. They should be fired.

It's a beautiful day when we have places like Emerald, where our family members can go and receive the love and care in their times of need. I have been visiting daily to see my family and friend. An amazing woman who created life and love through her many passions in life. I know her laughter and spirit deeply. I know her love for cooking, the preparation and presentation along with the social experience of being happy and fulfilled. I know I appreciate all the people who work hard to help and care for our loved ones.....My friend Zee is everything to me. All of Our Family is Everything to Us. Thanks to Us All..!!

Positive reviews are mostly employee based leadership is pressured to get the rating to 4-stars so they can get their bonus Be very cautious about selecting this faculty for care. Their motto is to "get the families in the door because when they see the renovations, they will be sold" yet, nothing stressing level of care towards patients Also as you note, negative reviews receive the same canned response from Emerald and NO I will not email you! You had the chance to listen to me when I was at the facility Too late now
