⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Emerald Arbor is Home!<br><br>Moving to Emerald Arbor was one of the best decisions I’ve ever made. From the moment I arrived, I felt a real sense of community and belonging. Everyone here is so friendly and welcoming — it truly feels like family.<br><br>The amenities are fantastic! I love starting my mornings with a workout in the fitness center and then relaxing in the coffee lounge with friends over a cup of coffee. The pool is my favorite spot in the summer, and the game room is always full of laughter and good company. I’ve also found so much joy in the community garden — there’s something special about growing flowers and vegetables alongside neighbors who share the same love for it.<br><br>One of the things I appreciate most is getting to experience all four beautiful seasons here in Western North Carolina. The spring blooms are gorgeous, summers are lively and full of sunshine, fall brings the most stunning colors you’ll ever see, and winters are calm and peaceful without being too harsh.<br><br>Living at Emerald Arbor has given me a wonderful balance of relaxation, activity, and friendship. It’s a place where I truly feel at home — and I couldn’t imagine living anywhere else!

My 2023 requests for maintenance of a rented lot in Emerald Arbor were met with unfulfilled assurances by the Park that they would do so. They have yet to do so and I have been evicted from the Park in 2025 for refusing to sign a new lease in 2023 unless the Park took care of said maintenance or included in the lease their agreement to do so. They would not, and instead issued Notices of Termination and Non-Renewal that were not followed through. They have continued to accept rent payments each month. To this day, no maintenence has been done on the trees that were the issue. Said trees damaged the home in July 2023 and now pose greater threat.<br>In May 2024, our complaint re water issues was met with orders to have the water tested. I did so and received Non-Renewal/Termination Notices within days. Again - only threats - not followed through and the Park continued to accept rent payments. I put the home on the market, only to hear from prospects, that they were quoted double the lot rent current residents pay - an amount out-of-reach for many people needing these homes.<br>My February 2025 complaint to a state dept. met with further retaliation in March 2025 - not just a letter of Termination, but eviction.<br>I would encourage anyone who has any concerns re trees, washout, or maintenance of any kind on any lot you consider renting in this Park to give it serious consideration. Supposedly state laws cover such things, but apparently they are difficult to enforce.<br>Re Park's response - we have met and there has been ample communication and negotiation through attorneys. I was informed for many months, repeatedly, that the tree would be taken care of but it was not and I was never informed there was any reason for it not to be.<br>These issues with trees that are not cared for, unexpected water shut-offs, strange taste and appearance of water, and ways of increasing rent are not just matters of unmet expectations.<br>You have now, in 2025, evicted a tenant from Emerald Arbor based on tenant's refusing to sign a new lease in 2023. It is hard to believe Emerald Arbor has the legal and/or ethical right to threaten, intimidate, and retaliate against tenants in this way - especially tenants who have maintained their homes far above average, have paid their rent in a timely manner, have never broken Park rules and regulations, who care for and are cared for by their neighbors.<br>I am submitting this review in consideration of the precedent this case sets for landlords and residents of over-55 mobile home parks in this beautiful, historic WNC community.<br>It is difficult to understand how Park owners can remove a person from their rental lots after failing to maintain the lots, how they can issue continual intimidating and threatening termination notices without following through and instead continue to collect rent for the lots, how they can carry out an eviction in obvious retaliation for the tenant's having filed a complaint against them, or how they can use an incident that took place two years prior as their reason for evicting a tenant.
