From the moment, my father was placed at Elderwood Greece, after a month’s Long displacement,we knew we had found exactly where he should be. It started with Sheila Turner, the wonderful administrator and HillarySchmartolla-Brooks, The director of nursing; who made us feel not only welcome, but supported and cared for. My father announced to us in 24 hours that he didn’t want to leave, stating that he had found his home. Now, if you believe that people end up exactly where they should be, then my dad is exactly where he needs to be. The beautiful picture window in his room, overlooks the same woods that he played in as a young boy. Thank you to Sheila and her amazing staff for their wonderful care of our dad!<br><br>Bill Hoecker and Karen Blank

Elderwood was recommended to my mother and me as a good option for our family member. We got a great feeling the moment we turned onto the drive and our experience just got better and better!<br><br>We didn't have an appointment, but within a few minutes we were meeting with Sheila, the Administrator. Sheila provided us with all the information we needed which included giving us a tour and introducing us to the staff and residents. The staff couldn't have been nicer and the building was clean and homelike. We looked at another facility, but it didn't compare. The next day Sheila met our family member and us at the hospital and guided us through the process to get him admitted. He's been there two weeks now and we couldn't be happier.<br><br>I should add that I was licensed by the NY State Department of Health as a Nursing Home Administrator in the mid-1980s. Until retiring, I spent my entire career in senior care in Ohio, New York and California. I know what to look for. I don't know where Elderwood is finding these wonderful people who work for them, or how they are doing what they do at the rates they are charging. I'm just glad we were recommended to Elderwood and hope that our family member is able to stay under the professional and loving care of the staff for as long as possible.

Our mom had a fall in her home and we decided it was time she moved out of her home. She's 92 and in good health but needed some care and overcite. She's been at Elderwood for just over 8 months and we love this place, but more importantly she likes the place too. They are very attentive to her needs, everyone is friendly and personable. They have a lot of different and fun daily activities that keep the residents active and engaged. I'm not sure how many words I get, but we really are pleased we found Elderwood and know our moms in a great place.
