My mother was admitted for rehab, but our first night was very difficult. She was anxious, agitated, and uncomfortable with being in a new environment, which I understand can happen during a transition to rehab.<br>My concern was not with the nursing staff personally, but with the lack of communication and guidance during the admission process. We were expecting more information about what to expect, who would be caring for her, and how her care plan would be managed. During our time there, we did not feel we received enough information or support to help my mother feel comfortable and secure.<br>Because of the lack of communication and my mother's increasing distress, I ultimately made the difficult decision to sign a release form and take her home. This was not a decision I took lightly, but I did not feel confident that we had enough information to move forward with her stay at that time.
