Eden Vista Prospect Heights provides top-notch, incredible care for its residents -- for both the body and the mind. I am beyond thankful we chose Eden Vista for my mom. She was there almost two months participating in rehabilitation and skilled nursing unit. I visited quite often, multiple times per day, and always felt welcomed by all staff. The rehab team (PT, OT and speech-pathology) and nursing staff are all amazing -- so patient, kind and just what she needed. They are very approachable, and always have the patient's needs at heart and made me (and her) feel at ease. There is a doctor that comes by as well who was fantastic, as she had an allergic reaction to a first-line medication during her stay and the doctor was there to ensure she was treated right away (It resolved.). The activity team has constant programming to keep residents' minds active and keeps them all engaged -- from seated exercise classes to trivia, bingo, and professional singers. Even after mom was discharged, she and my dad stayed to listen to one of the singers who was scheduled to come that day (Clearly, they did not want to leave!). There was even a tropical luau one day with a steel drum player, fun drinks and themed food -- we loved it. The staff even sang karaoke for the residents, which was so fun. Everyone here goes above and beyond and it truly feels like a home away from home. Mom also enjoyed the food, which is served warm in the dining room. When the chef learned she loved one of his meals (egg salad), he saved extra for her to eat the next day and offered it several times after. That was so thoughtful, as her appetite was just "coming back" at that point and she was more picky. That is the type of environment you get at Eden Vista. They know their residents so well that they can pinpoint when something may be a bit "off," and take care of it immediately. The CNAs are thoughtful and kind, and the eyes and ears of the residents -- they are there when you need them and take care of what the residents need and also help family members navigate the journey. My mom loved her "shower lady" -- she was so well cared for there. Mom also made good friends there who were also residents and I'm sure my dad would say the same. We also loved being able to celebrate her birthday there with her in the dining room. I would give this place more stars if I could. I am so thankful for you all and what you do. Truly special people work here. THANK YOU, EDEN VISTA! I will always remember how you cared for my mom and helped heal her.
