About Eden Homes of Potomac

Eden Homes of Potomac provides assisted living in Potomac, Maryland, operating three small residential homes, each accommodating eight residents with private bedrooms. Founded in 2001 by Jonathan Edenbaum, the community emphasizes personalized care through high staffing ratios that allow residents to live without requiring private aides, fostering a sense of community interaction.

The homes are nestled in pleasant local neighborhoods and designed to feel like residential spaces rather than institutional facilities. One home offers a kosher option, and all are described as charming, upscaled environments where residents can maintain dignity and feel at home.

Daily activities and comprehensive health services are available, including visits from nurse practitioners, podiatrists, dentists, phlebotomists, and beauticians. The community also arranges mobile X-ray services and other health support to ensure holistic care for residents.

The small home model was developed after the founder's experience in larger residential health care facilities, leading to a philosophy centered on meaningful staff-resident interactions and personalized attention. With only eight residents per home, the community emphasizes individualized care tailored to each person's needs.

This place is MAGICAL. The staff is amazing, the food is wonderful and my loved one was so happy there. When I would leave after a visit I knew my mom was, happy, clean, safe and well cared for. I give Eden Homes a 10 plus!

As an infectious disease diagnostics laboratory company, we have partnered with Eden Homes of Potomac for UTI and respiratory infection testing. We have been impressed by the professionalism and responsiveness of their clinical team. They communicate clearly, follow proper protocols for specimen collection and submission, and always keep the well-being of their residents at the forefront. Highly recommend Eden Homes of Potomac to families looking for the highest quality of care for their loved ones.

We visited eight nursing homes before making a decision, and in the end, we circled back to our very first choice: Eden Homes. And we are so glad we did. Honestly, it feels a little like discovering a hidden gem that you almost don't want to tell anyone about because then everyone will want it! Fortunately, our mother is already happily settled there, so we don't have to worry. What we love most about Eden Homes is: 1. They respect our mother's independence and wishes.
They don't force her to participate in activities or do things she doesn't want to do. If she wants to relax in her room, they respect that. Our mother has dementia, but it is not severe. That creates a delicate balance between honoring her independence and making sure she remains safe. The staff truly understand this. Even when she's feeling a bit grumpy, they remain patient, calm, and compassionate. They meet her where she is. 2. The staff are exceptional.
I can't say enough about the care, kindness, and genuine warmth of everyone who works there. Every interaction has been positive, and it's clear that they truly care about the residents. 3. It never feels depressing to visit.
That may sound like a small thing, but it's actually huge. Unlike many nursing facilities, Eden Homes feels welcoming, comfortable, and uplifting. We always leave feeling good about our mother's environment and care. 4. The atmosphere is personal, not corporate.
Because it's not run by a large corporation, there's a relaxed and responsive feel to the place. If you have suggestions or concerns, people listen. You can even speak directly with the owner, Jonathan, if needed. Arnie has also been wonderful - always approachable, responsive, and willing to answer questions. 5. Communication is excellent.
Working with Richard, the head of nursing, has been fantastic. We feel like we have a direct line of communication and are always kept informed about what's going on with our mother. 6. Most importantly, our mother is happy and comfortable.
She loves the smaller, more intimate environment, and we can see the difference it has made. Choosing a nursing home is never easy, but Eden Homes has exceeded our expectations in every way. We feel incredibly fortunate to have found it.
