I was the POA of a dementia friend who was at a different memory care community. She was asked to leave because they did not have the equipment and man power to take care of her needs. Dublin Glenn graciously accepted her. After the first few days at Dublin Glenn I knew it was the right place for her. The staff quickly knew my friend’s history and her likes and dislikes. This was amazing to me since my friend could no longer speak. They had all the correct equipment for one who could no longer walk, transfer oneself or self feed. The building was well designed for all stages of dementia. But more importantly the staff and caregivers were well educated about the needs of the residents no matter where they were in their dementia journey. The caregivers treated the residents with love and respect. Dublin Glenn had excellent activities for the residents and the staff was always with the residents. The whole staff including the chef were so compassionate to us as my friend entered her last earthly day. The staff worked well with Hospice. My advice to someone who is looking for a memory care community is to make sure the building and staff can handle all the needs of one’s total dementia journey. I can testify that Dublin Glenn is such a place. I am so thankful they took my friend in with open arms - cared and loved her as she went through her final stages of dementia. I couldn’t have asked for a better place.
