Huge Shout out to the Delaware Veterans Home staff, Parx Casino and Chickie and Petes for sponsoring Casino Night on Wed. March 11th for their residents. My mother ,who is a current resident had a great time. We enjoyed the Chickie and Pete's fries and she was happy she won at the roulette table. Great fun had by all!

If I could give negative stars 🌟 I would. I came in to visit a family friend and my child has disabilities One of this facilities Food Service Workers, a lady named Laura saw my child and stared and kept repeating "that child isn't NORMAL " There wasn't a confrontation or yelling, but it made my child cry because a adult was mean to her and she didn't understand what she did wrong to be ostracized like that. Something needs to be done with that lady because she doesn't belong around people or children if she's going to make disrespectful remarks about them.

I read with interest the previous review authored by a family member whose parents spent their last days at this facility. She went to the facility every day because her parents wouldn't eat the food there (with good reason - see PA Department of Health Survey report conducted April 29, 2022.).<br><br>The daughter who wrote the review assumed that her genuine interest in, and care for, her parents would be welcomed by the facility. Sadly, she was sorely mistaken. She was not alone when she witnessed "Sooo many hidden things . . . sooo many hurtful things happening there on a daily basis."<br><br>There is a powerful, manipulative, clique in this facility that operates with a junior-high-schoolesque "mean girl" mentality. Designated residents, residents who comply with the clique's rules without question, are recruited and rewarded. Together, the clique members insidiously isolate, bully, and punish designated outsiders, residents and family members alike. This behavior is condoned and perpetuated at the highest administrative level.<br><br>The physical aspects (the cover) of this facility appear to be strong and competent. It presents as a quality, well managed, facility that cares for all resident veterans and welcomes family members. Don't be fooled. The pages in this book are rotten, a grim reality that renders it weak and incompetent. Kudos to the perceptive reviewer who had the courage to expose this facility for what it is.
