I take care of two 86-year-old people. One is very unhealthy and I’m constantly needing home health. Well, when the other one needed home health, they wanted to go with Deaconess because that’s who the doctor brought up first, not recommended just First. She just told the doctor to set it up and that’s who they set it up with. The first couple of nurses were amazing. They were great. I haven’t had problems with the nurses at all. It’s the office. I have not had much success. Getting phone calls returned first of all. They don’t come out to my house. I give my mother her shots but they supply there’s syringes. So this morning when I called to tell them, we were out of syringes, and they needed to bring us more to her house, They said OK. Then about an hour and a half two hours later they call us back and say well we’ve got them down here at the office but we can’t bring them to you. I said I can’t come get them. Well, we don’t have anybody out that way and we can’t get them to you. I said, well, I can’t come get them and she said OK thank you they’re here. Then i’m mad. They won’t bring them to us. They’re home health. Medicare payd them to take care of my mother at home. Which this time includes bringing her syringes and supplies. So I get the manager on the phone and she proceeds to tell me they’re gonna bring them to me. How did that change? So I get that manager to bring the girl in her office and of course she said she didn’t say it. but when I asked her questions on A three-way conversation where all could be heard by everybody, I blatantly caught her in a lie that she did say it. Because she couldn’t answer my question and the manager steps in and says will bring them to you and that’s the end of it. So their office lies, doesn’t want to bring things to the house and they’re in home healthcare?

We had nothing but problems with Deaconess homecare. The workers are not professional and treated my dad like he wasn't worth their time. They were often late, that is if they decided to come at all. One nurse actually left my dad in the bath, unable to get out by himself because he was afraid he would fall. I don't know how long he had to sit there waiting for someone to come help him. The nurses would leave without giving him his breathing treatments. When they did show up, they would often leave without even telling him. He was left alone and confused, sometimes for hours, before mom would get home. If you care about your family members, do not use this "homecare", if you can even call it that.
