Compassus is a hospice care provider serving Meridian, Mississippi and surrounding communities. The organization offers compassionate end-of-life care available 24/7, with a physical office open Monday through Friday from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.
The hospice program provides nursing care with an emphasis on symptom management, practical assistance, and emotional support. Care is delivered across four levels of care, with services including home medical equipment, medications, personal care supplies, and nursing services. Pain and other symptoms are managed around the clock, with attention to spiritual and emotional health as well. Care is provided wherever patients call home, whether in a hospital, nursing home, assisted living facility, or personal residence.
Compassus offers short-term inpatient respite care to provide relief for family caregivers, as well as ongoing grief counseling for patients, families, and friends. Volunteer services are available, with volunteers assisting through activities such as reading to patients, preparing meals for families, and helping with household tasks.
The Meridian hospice program has been awarded Community Health Accreditation Partner accreditation renewal under the Hospice Standards and has received the Meridian Star Readers' Choice Award. Compassus works alongside healthcare providers to support patients and families during end-of-life care.
