My mother was a patient at this facility ( last July 2025) I am just getting around to writing a review. Background info. My mom had knee replacement surgery and was required to recover at a nursing skill facility for 21 days. Her surgery went well , however her stay at Complete Care was disastrous. We arrived to the facility on a Saturday; no greeting, no admission personnel… nothing . Was told to go to a particular room. My mom has Alzheimer’s, she was not put on the memory care floor. We got to the room, there was no walker, no cane, no wheelchair ( mom was just released for hospital and had no way of getting around. I was told those things would be added after an evaluation… that would take place on Monday, due to no admin on call . They wanted to put a diaper on her, because they would not even add a bedside commode to o her room. I was hesitant to leave my mom there, but I did. The next day was worse. I arrived to find a bedpan in the middle of the floor filled with urine, my mom was sitting in a chair away from the bed. I asked how did she get in the chair , the nurse said I guess she walked, mind you there was no wheelchair, can , walker in her room. Nurse told me I told her to stay in the bed… my mom has Alzheimer’s! My mom was never given her pain meds, never recovered physical therapy, never was turned, no leg compressions, NOTHING! That same day I stayed 8 hours and the staff only appeared to give my mother her meals( which were disgusted) her temperature, blood pressure was never taken. I was given so many excuses. I filled out a complaint form( 2nd day) My mother’s call button, nor phone in her room worked. The staff were hardly seen. The bathrooms are unisex, some of the staff were rude, unprofessional and not knowledgeable. I decided to remove my mother on the 5th day, as her needs were not being met. The day after we left, my mom was rushed to the hospital with severe pulmonary embolisms. She was in ICU for 6 days. I attribute it to her terrible stay at Complete Care. My mom had to be put on oxygen and blood thinners. Please don’t send your family member / friends to this facility, it is an absolutely horrible place . It took me a year to write this review, as I had to take care of my mother’s health.

I have had family in many facilities in the DMV and I can say complete care ranks with the worst. Staff can be very friendly but very vendictive as well. Ninety percent of the administrative team are focused on a check and not the care and well being of the patient. And the lies, from nurses, gnas, kitchen staff, admin....I have never seen so many grown people lie the way these people do. To lie this well it must be a part of the orientation process and drilled in daily. My family member that was there utilizes an oxygen concentrator, the power went out so no oxygen.....do you think one member of the nursing team got up to get him a portable tank...NO. Periodically the AC in the rooms would be turned of from the admin side but the area were the staff worked in the hall, the corporate offices, etc had plenty of cool air. Again with an oxygen concentrator generating heat and no AC you could only imagine how hot it was. Finally it was me tioned that the faculty had fans so one was issued but all it did was blow hot air around this creating the effects of a convection oven. So fan two was issued, that helped somewhat.....hadntonsitendirectly in front of the fan like we did at Grandma's growing up. Still complaining the head of maintenance finally visited the room trying to justify why the air to the rooms were off. As we talked about the excessive heat he noticed the oxygen concentrator that generates alot of heat stating he did not know he had a concentrator.......THE STAFF NEW but allowed the patient to suffer. While they were checking the temperatures in the rooms the family member room registered over 83, before the heat wave. A person on oxygen cannot be subjected to that type of heat as it makes breathing difficult. A portable AC unit was issued but it had to used in conjunction with the fans to cool the room. We worked weeks to get his dietary needs, likes, dislikes in place when we issued a complaint they wiped out his dietary choices from the system and for two weeks served foods he did not or could not eat. There is not enough space to mention how horrible the food was, the poor grade of food, and the presentation. If you are trying to heal you need food nutrition to assist in the healing process, there was very little nutrition in what they served. My family member finally left via ambulance as I called 911. He was having difficulty breathing and a pain in his lung. The paramedic team thought they had a false reading when his heart rate indicated 35 but the number was verified at the hospital. His blood pressure and heart rate were dangerously low, his third kiss of death experienced at complete care. Now that he is free of this place I can address all issues and concerns on a county, state, and federal level as staff is retaliatory when you complain or voice your concerns. Lastly when issues were bad at the facility early on I called the dedicated abuse line number provided, posted in the facility, multiple times and of course not one return call. Overall, complete care hyattsville is not a place suitable for humans and if you truly love your family members do not allow in this facility. On a good note there were a handful of exceptional staff members. They took great pride in their work and treated patients with dignity and respect, two things lacking. The facility takes advantage of their greatness and they will get burned out and leave. The patience at complete care hyattsville deserve better....much better.

My mom was a patient there. Bad choice. She caught pneumonia and had to go the hospital. She eventually came back and it was a sweat box everyday. The meals provided were not the meals on the slip. Some nurses were nice most were not. When my mom left, she was supposed to have been provided with PT/OT. None of this ever happened. When I contacted the Social Worker regarding it, she never responded. I eventually started calling the front desk and I still could not get a hold of her. I am going to the Better Business Bureau and open an investigation into this center. They were supposed to help her get better but was only interested in falsifying their documents. I would avoid CompleteCare at put your loved someone in another facility.

The facility is very clean. My elderly friend tells me the food is great. She's gaining her weight back which she lost at the facility that she came from due to not enjoying the food there. She loves her therapy nurse as well as all the nurses. She said they are very thorough and attentive. I also found them to being very friendly and cordial!
