My father in law moved into this community a few months ago from a different assisted living. The difference has been noticeable since the first day.<br><br>His neighbors are kind and helpful. We met most of them on the day we moved him in, and he is now a member of the “mens group,” and they watch all of the sports games together. I’ve never seen him so involved socially. His attitude has greatly improved, he went from isolating and refusing to socialize to asking me not to come during certain times because he has plans with “the boys.”<br><br>The community itself is all one floor, so it’s easy to navigate. It’s also secured 24/7 which gives us a sense of peace about who is coming and going. We have the code, so we visit often after hours and there are no “visiting hours” which we love because sometimes I can’t sleep at night so it’s nice to be able to drop in when he’s still watching the nightly news.<br><br>The Directors are always available and have an open door policy. At the last place, I could barely get a meeting scheduled. At Colonial Court, I can drop in anytime to talk about anything on my mind.<br><br>The care is phenomenal. When I am there, if he needs something he presses a button and someone is always there in less than 5 minutes. The care takers are friendly and very knowledgeable. They have a nurse on-site every day, and my calls/text messages are answered anytime day or night. Once, when he was coming back to the community after spending a day with family, I called the owner because I had her card and didn’t have the cell of the director. Not only did she answer at 8pm on a Sunday but she even had his favorite food delivered when I told her he hadn’t eaten dinner yet!!!<br><br>We haven’t eaten the food, but he raves about it. On Easter, they even served a special of honey glazed ham and lamb chops with mint jelly. He hasn’t had lamb in years because we don’t cook it and he hasn’t gone anywhere that made it, so it was a special treat. He loved the kids who hunted for eggs and it just made him feel a part of the holiday in a way he hasn’t felt in many holidays prior.<br><br>You can feel the local ownership and personalization at Colonial Court. The owners are there weekly always doing some type of improvement at the building.<br><br>If I could give it 100 stars, I would. My only regret is that I didn’t find Colonial Court sooner. I’m trying to get my own mother to sell her home now because I can see there is a better life for her ahead.

My father and I volunteer weekly at Colonial Court Assisted Living and Memory Care, where we spend time playing cards with the residents. It’s truly something we both look forward to every week. The excitement on the residents’ faces when we arrive and the joy shared during our conversations and games is incredibly meaningful.<br><br>The community itself is warm, welcoming, and genuinely feels like home. You can tell right away that the residents are well cared for and valued. The staff are outstanding—kind, attentive, and always creating a positive, supportive environment.<br><br>It’s a wonderful place, and we feel grateful to be a small part of such a caring and hospitable community.<br><br>This is the community my parents would go to if they ever needed more assistance than we can give them.

My Mom was a resident here for about 2 months. She left on Jan 11 to go to hospital emergency when I was told by my daughter that her temp was 103* and she was unresponsive. We had been asking to get her help on 4 different occasions and were told to wait until Monday. She looked very bad when I seen her compared to when I had seen her on the 8th. Her arms were bandaged up, there was redness around her right eye. I was not told of any new injuries, but she had them. When she was at Er, they found she had a lot of pain in her arms, cellulitis, sepsis, pneumonia and an infection that was very bad. Her kidneys were very much threatened. They put her on a strong antibiotic for 24 hours, and found that the infection progressed to her entire body. We had to make the decision to let her pass. Shame on the ones who did not take care of this beautiful woman!
