Cohen-Rosen House

Cohen-Rosen House is a memory care residence in Rockville, Maryland, designed for 18 individuals living with Alzheimer's disease or other memory impairments. The community combines a nationally-recognized design approach with a family-style model to support residents in maintaining a meaningful quality of life.

The professional care team follows a household model, with nearly all staff trained and skilled in Alzheimer's and memory care. Team members assist with dressing, grooming, toileting, housekeeping, recreation, and dining, while serving as Life Skills Assistants to support traditional household operations. Residents have access to physical, occupational, and speech therapy services. The community integrates evidence-based tools and programs, including Teepa Snow's Positive Approach to Care®, a person-centered method designed to enhance quality of life and create more meaningful interactions between residents and care partners.

The homelike environment emphasizes the social, emotional, spiritual, physical, and intellectual needs of the whole person. Residents can enjoy a tranquil garden, gather in a light-filled great room with family, or relax in comfortable common spaces. Programming includes multi-generational activities and creative offerings tailored to support connections with family, faith, values, the natural environment, and community members.

Cohen-Rosen House holds LEED Silver Certification for green building and has received multiple architectural awards recognizing innovation in memory care design. The residence is Music & Memory certified and has received the 2024 and 2021 Silver National Quality Awards from the American Health Care Association and the National Center for Assisted Living, as well as the Pinnacle Quality Insight 2023 Customer Experience Award.
