Went from 5 stars to 1 star. I used to adore the staff that took care of my grandpa, used too! Im not sure how a place can go down over the course of a few months. We started having problems with his laundry coming back. His full name was stamped into each article of clothing and yet over the course of 3 months he only had about 3 pairs of pants left out of at least 7-8 pairs. I bought him a bag of 12 nicely cushioned socks, his name not only stamped into them but I wrote his name on the bottom of each sock. Bought them in March and by May he only had 5 pairs left. I begged the laundry staff to please find them and pay attention next time because we could not afford to go and buy him more clothes every month. At the same time i purchased the socks, I also purchased 3 really nice pairs of pajama bottoms for him and when I went to visit him 3 weeks later he only had 1 pair! Again, name stamped and wrote in them his full name. I kept reciepts and took pictures of them to show proof and they only reimbursed me for 1 pair and never found either pair. A month after that my grandpa called me very upset and in tears because his tv was broken that day. I asked him how it happened and he told me a staff had came into his room and threw a heavy box down right on the coax cable that was attached to the tv, it yanked so hard it broke the tv's coax hook up in the tv. My grandpa had asked him to please watch out and not set the boxes there but staff did it anyway. The kicker was when I called to speak with administration they said it was a lie because the staff member denied he did it. So they were calling my grandpa who is very aware and in his right mind. This tv was a 65 inch Samsung ultra hd flat screen and they cost quite a bit. When my uncle called to ask what was goung on and inquire about what had happened they told my uncle a different story, they lied on my on my grandpa and said my grandfather's wife purposely yanked the cord out and broke the tv knowing good and well him and his wife both witnessed the staff member do it. My uncle and I both knew the administrator was lying, because she did not want to pay to have it fixed. After we were trying to figure out how to pay for it to be fixed an aide had stopped my husband an I admitted she too was in there when it all happened bringing ice water to my grandpa and had seen the entire thing, but was afraid to speak up because she was afraid of getting in trouble after that they were still refusing to fix it until I told them I was contacting an ombudsmen. After that all went down they agreed to fix it. But afterwards my grandpa was being treated very nasty and his room was being neglected. I would have to make extra trips up there to clean his room. The trash was over flowing both in the bathroom and in the room and soiled linen and clothes in the bathroom and the soiled linen a few times had been from him having accidents and instead of taking it out of the room they just set it in the bathroom. When I spoke with the nurse she had said the accident had been from 2 days prior and did not understand why the aide left them in there or why housekeeping hadn't been in there to clean. The kicker finally happened when my grandpa had knives out of his very nice and expensive collection stolen by staff. Police got involved and we decided we were moving him from there. Now everything is said and done and we have him in a wonderful place with amazing staff and I am able to speak out about the horrific treatment of my grandpa. I suggest anyone thinking of putting their loved one in there to really do your research before placing them there.
