I'm not in the healthcare side of business, My role has been client services and personnel. The Chinook Home Health Care - "Because There is No Place Like Home" organization truly cares about their clients and their staff both. Constantly adjusting and finding the ideal balance to provide both quality of care for the Clients and Quality of life for both the clients and the care givers. My family has used Chinook home health care for years, the employees are beyond caring and treat their patients like family of their own. I have recommended them to many friends over the years and they all feel the same way. Tammy Green specifically has been heaven sent, my grandmother saw her as a daughter of her own in many ways. My grandmother looked forward to the days she’d see Tammy because she knew it would be a day with great conversations and lots of laughs. I can’t emphasize enough how great Chinook home health care has been for my family!

I can write this review since enough time and grieving has now passed. The short story that leads up to seeking out Chinook Home Health Care is that caregivers of another company had supposedly been giving CNA level care to my 88-year-old bed ridden father. My mother, who had been an RN for over 50 years, expressed concern to me about their inability to perform their duties. My mother had expressed her concerns to that owner, and she was being ignored. At her request, I took a week off and returned home from Idaho. I spoke with the owner and began to dig into the situation. I found we were being supplied with a significant number of caregivers who were not certified or qualified and most of them did not follow the basic tenants of the CNA training program. The quality of supervision was dismal at best and there was no real consensus in expectations of care. One example was when I was told by the owner that it was going to require two people to turn my 120 lb father in his bed. I observed their attempt to turn him, and it was obvious that a patient of his size only requires one person if performed correctly, which was not the case. They failed to lower the bed flat and were trying to turn him when the head was up. This example and the whole situation came down to a company that promised the moon, failed to deliver, and were more interested in charging for services not required. During this same period, my mother had been and was continuing to give them a tough time because they were not giving her husband the correct care. I was told, by the owner, that my mom was mentally unstable, and they may have to terminate the service. I immediately began to look for other options. A few days later I was fortunate enough to get a call from that owner, and was told that they were going to have to cancel service in two weeks. Then an answer to prayer happened. We began to talk in earnest with Chinook Home Health Care. Folks like Johannah Weeks and Tammy Green stepped in, and literally came to the rescue. They implemented a seamless transition that did not involve the prior company. They provided competent caregivers who were not only qualified and certified but provided a caring environment. They did key things like speaking with doctors to ensure orders were understood. As my mother observed the care my father was being given, she became relaxed knowing he was getting excellent care. It was obvious that the quality and competency of care being given was head and shoulders above what we had been enduring. My father’s last few weeks on this earth were significantly improved by these folks and he passed peacefully. With my father’s passing, we continued with Chinook for my mother. She was at the stage where it was beneficial to have a caregiver visit a few days a week to help her and they provided competent and caring staff to meet that need. As a year or so passed, the level of care increased to having a caregiver each day. When she had a micro stroke, she was able to return home but was basically bed ridden so we transitioned to around the clock care and stepped up to using CNA's. When mom passed, it was peaceful and with people who really cared about her. I need to step back for a moment so that it is perfectly clear. While I spent several weeks in Richland during the transition, I had to return to work in Idaho. What was critical to me was the Chinook supervisor kept me informed on important information and significant changes even though I was almost 600 miles away. They worked with me as a team to ensure her care, which provided me with peace of mind. When asked, my mother would tell me she was so thankful that we had the support of Chinook and their staff. I can say with confidence and certainty that after more than two years of receiving transitioning levels of caregiving for a father and mother, it would be extremely difficult to find someone that will work with you and help your family members like Johannah Weeks and her staff at Chinook Home Health Care.

I hired Chinook after being with 2 other companies. There seemed to be never ending issues at both companies. The caregivers were always on the phone, lazy, and didn't have very much experience. when I called Chinook, I was surprised to get a live person on the phone and not a voice mail. I needed someone right away because the company I was with, left me with no caregiver. I had a doctors appointment in two days and after my stroke, I really needed around the clock care. They came within the hour to get me signed up for services. I made it to my doctors appointment and even got my prescription. I love the caregivers I have and I am so thankful I found them. The management team is great. they check on me and my caregivers at least once a week. It was very important that I get a caregiver who doesn't smoke and can drive me to anywhere I need to go. The caregivers seem to love their job and they always take me to get a frosty and do my grocery shopping as well. I am so Thankful for the care they give to me. Useful Funny Cool

We have the most amazing caregivers, who truly care about our clients! They respect Boundaries and put the clients needs before their own. We check on our clients in the home as well as the caregivers weekly. While this may be annoying for some, it’s the way that we make sure our clients are matched well with the care staff and to make sure the caregivers are doing their job well. It has been very hard (for every small business) since COVID to find a solid workforce but I truly believe we have the best of the best! We also guarantee our services, so you will never be without care. If you want quality service and dependable care, look no further!
