Visited recently and I was reminded that service to the public in any profession.... and in this case whether it is a person staying there or visiting... some replies and attitudes aren't perhaps what you had hoped for... and perhaps aren't really even directly related to this moment and instead is a carryover from earlier... these can be tough jobs.... so at times need to navigate around that "stuff" ....

My mother has been at Charlene Manor for almost a year now, and I visit her several days a week. She seems happy, and that is what matters most to me. I am very pleased with the care she is receiving. The nurses and CNAs are caring, attentive, and genuinely friendly. My mom truly enjoys interacting with them, which gives me great peace of mind. There are many activities offered each month, along with thoughtful touches around the holidays like giving each resident a poinsettia plant and decorating the facility so it feels warm and inviting. A local church visits every Sunday to bring communion, which my mom enjoys. I am a strong advocate for my mom and her needs, and the staff has always been receptive and responsive. She had two cataract surgeries while there, and everything went smoothly. She enjoys most of the meals and is always given options if there’s something she doesn’t prefer. It is also okay if you'd like to bring a special meal from home. The facility is continually making updates. I often notice fresh paint and other improvements. Overall, it is clean and well-maintained. One of the things I appreciate most is the regular care team meetings held every few months. Family members are invited to attend, receive updates, and provide input. It truly feels like a team approach to caring for my loved one. I would highly recommend Charlene Manor to anyone looking for compassionate, collaborative care.

This place is excellent. The staff is caring and attentive. Staff will contact you if something happens to your family member. Very compassionate staff who will listen to you. After several terrible experiences at other facilities we are glad we picked Charlene Manor

My father recently stayed at Charlene Manor for about 10 days after a 3 day stay in the emergency room. The staff was friendly and kind, the rooms were clean for the most part and he enjoyed the meals (they have a list of substitutions if you don't like the main meal). He was there for rehabilitation, and after a few days was mostly mobile. My only concern was that he missed a shower time and I had to press them to get another one, but they did without question after I requested it. He was a little unsure of where he was able to go, or what he was allowed to do, but after a few days he took a few short walks around the halls, I'm not sure if they went over that with him or not. Like I said, staff was kind, just don't be afraid to advocate for what you or your family member needs

I had a family member in local "for profit" nursing facility for 5 years before moving them to Charlene Manor, a non-profit facility. I can tell you with 4 years of first hand experience there, that Charlene is the best local nursing home hands down. None are perfect, nor can they be and keep their doors open. They never once failed to meet any request we ever had in regard to the care of our loved one.
