Do not take your family member here. Please don't do it. The administrator is a disrespectful individual often trying to put words in people mouths and the head nurse has a very nasty attitude. I wish there was time to elaborate but I refuse to give them anymore energy!

Do NOT send your loved one here! My grandma was sent here for therapy after her fall and surgery. Everytime i came to see her ,the nurses were in the hallway sitting on their phones ducked off. I asked TWICE to make sure she got help eating, they were suppose to put it in the comp for the nurse to see or the aids...I have a whole video sitting at her door way VIDEOING HER after she got her food tray! Nobody was in there helping her. She was pretty much in tears explaing how they just throw the food ij front of her and never give her coffee like she asks. After a few weeks,my aunt pulled her out of this place!! They didnt report her declining or anything the last few days of her being there. After she came home,I went to visit her and she looked horrible! I was just at this place visiting her a week before my aunt made them release her home. My grandma is not longer with us. She was literally here for therapy and I truly believe in my heart this place did worse for her than helped her. Not to mention the nurses on her hall yall,on the weekend it was like they didnt have nobody to work or something so they put whoever on nursing duty to hand out their medicine. This one nurse looked like a full blown crazy person on drugs herself! I believe they messed up her medicine too! Just try everything NOT to send your loved one there . I did go often to check on my grandma except the last few days she was there because I needed to get caught up on my finances with work & we were about to pull her out of here! If you cant be there pushing things and helping care for them every day for thw whole day, DONT DO IT. Dont sent them!!! I will tell the world until I cant!!

I absolutely love this facility! My mother was one of the very first residents to have the opportunity to bask in the beauty of this state if the art edifice! The administrator is very kind and very helpful. Most complaints should be directed towards some of the staff members. There are some that come on board just to get a paycheck and don't really care about the well-being of the patients/residents. This is going to happen at any nursing home facility. I suggest seeing about your loved ones on a regular basis to ensure that they are being well cared for. Nonetheless, I can testify that this place is amazing!

I do NOT recommend this facility!! My mother was here 4-5 months. She came here with a brand new diagnosis at the age of 62 with dementia. They would not get her in to see a neurologist. They did not start the process of signing up for dental until I had to call them 9 times and get rude. That was over 3 months into the stay. On average, I would have to call 8 times before I could get someone to call me back. This place is new and beautiful, but horrible and unacceptable care. My mother was transferred to a new facility yesterday, they have already called and said they are getting her into neuro asap. “Your mother is too young to be in this state. We can slow this process down”. The dental has already called and set her up with treatment plan. This is all done within 14 hours of her being there. Central guest house couldn’t even care enough to get ANYTHING done in 4+ months. Again- many times I had to call many times just to get someone to talk!!

I’m giving a 5 star rating because I have no idea how this particular facility is. Being that it’s new & located in Central, the experience of patients could be far greater than what the sister facilities offer. I want to give them the benefit of the doubt. I read that the Care Center in Baton Rouge (one of the sister facilities) shut down and merged with this new facility. There is also another Guest House in Baton Rouge. If you’re looking to place your family member at the Central location, I encourage you to read the reviews at these other locations. I also encourage you to say yes to having a camera installed when filling out the paperwork (you will have to come out of pocket for it & legally the camera can only record video, not audio). Furthermore, I encourage you to speak with management on all levels to ensure that your family member will receive proper care. If there is ever a moment where they don’t, report it to management. If nothing is done about it, report it to the state. This is the one of the only ways that care will improve in these facilities. My mother was a patient at the Care Center in July & August of 2022. She has been a paraplegic for 20 years… completely paralyzed from the lower chest down. Due to hard work & a strong mentality she has lived a completely independent life despite the hardships of paralysis. In June of 2022 she had to have a shoulder replacement. For the first time in her life, she couldn’t use her arms on top of being paralyzed. She had no choice but to fully rely on the staff at the Care Center. Did she want to have to be waited on hand and foot? No. But she was treated as if she was arrogantly privileged & undeserving of care. In reality, she was utterly in need & not by her own choosing. I feel that my mother could have died at the Care Center had my sister & I not spent every moment that we possibly could with her. The nights were the worst… & that happened to be the only time of day that we left her alone. There were many times where she was left in a dirty diaper for hours. She had multiple serious UTIs from being left in her own waste. She was medically required to be turned every 2 hours to prevent bed sores. There were many times where they would go hours and hours without turning her & yell at her when she politely asked to be turned. I witnessed this when asking her to secretly FaceTime me so that I could see how her medically necessary requests were being responded to. Much of the time when she would turn her call light on, they would simply come in, turn it off, and leave. You could hear patients crying out for help & their doors would be slammed shut. I witnessed this first hand. The Care Center was like hell on earth. I remember really wrestling with my faith during those few months. I wondered how these patients could desperately cry out to the Lord for help for months on end to no avail. I’m now confident that He hears their cries & was near to these broken-hearted souls. He’s the God who sees. And even tho we don’t see it all fleshed out here & now, He’s the God who acts. There were some incredible staff members who worked there and truly cared for their patients. There is one in particular who I will never forget. She went by Cookie. We loved her so much. I understand that CNAs are often overworked and severely underpaid. That being said, I can also understand how they could lose compassion over time. I just really really hope that this facility in Central is operated properly, that the staff is treated well & paid well, & that the patients are truly cared for… when visitors are present and when they are not… especially those patients who are alone and cognitively unable to advocate for themselves.
