If you want your loved ones to be treated with dignity and respect do not send them here! The staff ignores the patients regularly, they do not provide adequate care, nor do they explain to the patients how to advocate for the things they may need. In order to get any help at all you have to contact the administration and even then, he attempts to sway you away from the actual issues at hand, redirects you to seem that you aren't really sure of what you are saying or needing. Further, the entire facility smells like urine, it is not well maintained, and the front desk staff is beyond rude. I feel horrible for anyone forced to be a resident at this facility.

My mother was here for about 3 weeks in the spring of 2025. The facility is well-kept and she reported that the food was reasonably good. Most of the staff were quite friendly and helpful, although there were a few that were somewhat less friendly. But all of them behaved professionally and did what needed to be done to help her recover. The interactions we had with the account manager were also pleasant and informative. All in all, this facility is recommended.

This place is horrible. The only reason I gave one star is to write a review. In the words of my sister the staff was very unprofessional, lacked the knowledge of of caring for anyone, didn't do their jobs, and was extremely lazy. My dad would have died if it wasn't for the vigilance of my family. He was there for a short period of time (11 days) and became extremely ill. They didn't "attempt" to do their jobs unless we were present. My father got a bad extremely bad UTI due to their neglence and I would not recommend sending a dog here.

This nursing home is horrible and doesn’t even deserve one star! My dad was transferred to this facility after his surgery for skilled nursing/ physical therapy. He was only here for 11 days. My father left here on a stretcher in an altered state!!! The staff neglected him !! I have a list of things, but I will keep this review short as possible. The facility was not doing physical therapy with him; the facility was not clean. The staff lacked knowledge, they were lazy, very unprofessional. My dad's symptoms were noticeable, and the team did nothing!! He suffered for days, and they kept reassuring us that they were treating him; LIES!! I had to demand that they send my dad to a hospital! If my father had stayed at this facility, he probably wouldn’t be alive today. He ended up back at the hospital because of their negligence! Mind you, my family, and I was at this location daily! So I can imagine how they are treating those who do not have family that can see them every day. This location is the reason for my father’s regression. I wouldn’t recommend anyone sending their loved ones here!!!

I had an accident August 13, 2019. I was driving & panicked when I saw a spider in my lap. I pulled over, bailed out without putting my car in park. Back tire rolled over my right leg. After orthopedic and plastic surgeries; moved to B R Rehab Hospital on Sept 1st. Upon being released Sept 10th, I was moved to skilled nursing. A chose to relocate from initial skilled nursing facility as I was very dissatisfied. My transfer to Baton Rouge Healthcare Center was the absolute best decision I could have made. Since September 24th I have gone from being unable to walk to using a wheelchair, weeks later to a walker and as of today, I’m on a cane. The PT and OT therapist are exceptionally skilled. They had me doing things I thought might not ever happen. They worked with me and focused on my needs. If I ever need skilled nursing or a nursing facility; Baton Rouge Healthcare Center would be my first choice. A warm welcoming administration, beautiful facility and exceptional staffing from housekeepers, aids, nurses. I’ve had the best of care in a very pleasing environment. I sincerely enjoyed the stay as I knew I was improving daily. A special thanks to each and every person I came in contact with. You made my recovery a joy. Beautiful people. M K Smith
