We visited our grandmother recently and the facility is beautiful. Our grandmother is very happy living here and has been there about 6 months now. The staff were very nice and welcoming, and we left feeling very relaxed knowing she was there.

The activities director, Amber is an absolute doll. We came to visit and she made us feel very welcome as well as the other staff. The building was beautiful, very warm and inviting. You can tell the staff truly care about the residents and making the environment positive!

I want to start this review by expressing there are individuals within this organization who are incredibly kind, sweet, and loving. There are some who truly have been blessing to my grandmother and gave our family peace of mind while she was in the care of Cedarhurst.

Cedarhurst as an organization has repeatedly proven they are only concerned about their image and financials, not about their residents. When my grandmother was first moved into the memory care section of their Newburgh facility, my mom requested to be signed up for activity updates sent from the facility. My aunt, who resides in Newburgh, was always treated exceptionally well, especially in the beginning. My mom, who resides in Florida, was treated like a problem, specifically by Amber. During the process of signing my mom up for the activity updates, Amber insinuated multiple times my mom was the problem for why she wasn't being signed up...it wasn't until I called Amber on my mom's behalf that it was fixed. She told me during that call, she sent my mom a text and an email and it must being something my mom was doing as to why she wasn't getting them. I finally informed Amber I was holding my mom's phone and no communication had been received then or previously. After that call, communication regarding my grandmother began coming through.

While activity updates are great, when truthful, Cedarhurst proved their update system is merely for metrics at a corporate level to entice new residents and families. The update you're given about your loved one through the automated system is almost guaranteed to be false. My grandmother passed away Wednesday night and wouldn't you know, Cedarhurst text my mom and aunt that she attended the Salon on Thursday. Friday morning, my mom and aunt were reminded about the upcoming ice cream social. This not only proves their updates are on a "group scale" and "individual participation may vary" or whatever lies they want to tell you to cover themselves, they absolutely have no care about you or your family member in their care. What they do care about is the money your family brings them...so be extremely cognizant of that before believing all the lies thrown at you in the beginning. Not to mention how incredibly insensitive it is to message the family of a recently deceased individual false information about that individual.

When I called to have my mom and aunt be removed from the activity list, since they clearly had no intention of respectfully doing so, I had to call FIVE times before someone would answer the phone. Thankfully, it wasn't an emergency but five times is inexcusable when loved family members are in their care. The girl who answered the phone was very kind and very apologetic, she did however state she was new. So like all of the good staff I've seen at Cedarhurst, she won't stay long because very few do.

Frontline employees in Newburgh deserve praise and recognition, they are fantastic. They were always good to us, and great to my grandmother. The management in Newburgh and this corporation deserves to be exposed for the greedy, careless scam they are. But what would you expect from their CEO, who is also the CEO of a commercial real estate and development company. The focus isn't your family....its about your families money!

My father has been living at Cedarhurst for the past year and the facility is nothing less than amazing. The building itself is beautiful and is kept in spotless condition. When you enter the facility, it feels like you are visiting an upscale hotel rather than an assisted living facility. The apartments are spacious and have all of the accommodations needed so residents can maintain their privacy while still getting the help they need. Aside from this, I think the most amazing part of this facility is the staff. The entire group of employees are top notch. Everyone is professional and kind and truly treat the residents as if they were family. I am talking about every level of the company. The nursing staff is responsive, knowledgeable and compassionate. The employees tasked with checking on residents daily are so professional and caring. The housekeeping staff are interactive with the residents and kind and the employees working the concierge desk are awesome. It is a great crew that I trust with my loved one and I feel so fortunate to have found Cedarhurst when we needed them most. I would recommend this facility to anyone looking for a safe and caring place to take care of any family member that needs any level of assistance. Kudos to the entire crew and thank you!

It is such a beautiful and clean place for a loved one. Their staff are all so loving and friendly. They treat my sister with such love and respect. She loves all the activities that they do and she participates in all of them. I would highly recommend Cedarhurst in Newburgh.
