UPDATE 2026:

Cedarfield is STILL FAILING their residents. STILL DOING THE SAME THINGS THEY DID TO MY MOTHER. Had a friend tell me after they did private nursing for a resident there that they saw the same things going on. I stated below, when you have to go to the NURSING CARE - YOU IGNORED, DISRESPECTED AND NOT GIVEN THE PROPER CARE YOU DESERVE and PAY FOR.

2017
Cedarfield makes the facility look like almost being in heaven. LOOKS ARE VERY VERY DECEIVING. This is ONLY while you are independent. You don’t see what they don’t want you see. THE MAIN reason seniors want to go to a senior living facility is for the assistance they will need when they will need help taking care of themselves and the TRAINED NURSING, DOCTOR and MEDICAL care they ARE TOLD THEY WILL RECEIVE, EXPECT and PAY FOR at the end of their lives. They don’t want to be in a position to have family or others to bear the burden of carrying for then and not knowing how to care for them.

THEY COMPLETELY FAILED MY MOTHER! My siblings and I spent so much time, MANY DAYS and NIGHTS at Cedarfield taking care of our mom because of the lack of care she received from the TOTAL NURSING STAFF, TOP TO BOTTOM. We even hired a caregiver to come during the days. We witnessed so many things - the terrible care for our mom and other residents. It is pretty demeaning when you have to as for help to go to the bathroom as it is, but when the nursing staff take sometimes 20 to 30 minutes to respond, why respond? Now they have to change the sheets. The nursing staff is NOT correctly trained, in many ways incompetent, in the aspects of patient care. Such as dispensing medications and lifting a patient, which seems simple, BUT IS NOT AND DANGEROUS, for the patient, etc. We had many meetings with the head of the nursing department to no avail. We were pretty much ignored. They said they would do something. Did they? NO.

The nurses dropped my mother many times, she had cuts and nurses don’t call the families (essentially hide it from the family). My mother was given WRONG (dangerous for her) medications. We were there one night when the nurse WAS dispensing medications. We casually asked what the medications were. THEY were the WRONG medications (they were NOT prescribed to her BUT that were on her chart to give her). Mom had been having problems and it was because of the wrong medications. Thankfully, we were there correct the medications on her chart.

*** My mother had an UTI and the Cedarfield “doctor” FAILED TO PRESCRIBE THE MEDICATION. That same week, my mother was dropped in the morning BY THE NURSING STAFF and she broke her elbow. We were NEVER called and informed about the fall, AS USUAL. One of her friends, that used to be a nurse, came for visit that same afternoon. She saw my mother’s elbow and HAD TO MAKE the nurses call an ambulance to take her to the hospital. Mom had to have surgery on her elbow. BECAUSE of the “doctor’s” FAILURE to prescribe medication for the UTI and the surgery for the elbow, MY MOTHER DIED in 2017. She died because of the over and over HEINOUS care she received at Cedarfield. She gladly give them all all her money for the kind of medical care she EXPECT AND PAID FOR to receive at the end of her life.

Cedarfield should be shut down because of the heinous care my mom received. My siblings and I had a meeting with Executive Director at that location a week or so after mom died. They said that they would supposedly retrain staff and have our family back to see. I’m sure they said that so we would not sue them (which we wouldn’t have done, pbut should have). AND, OF COURSE, THAT DIDN’T HAPPEN. WE NEVER HEARD FROM HIM. Shouldn’t have been surprised that he didn’t, but I actually hoped we would have been given that courtesy.

ADDENDUM: AFTER posting my review, NOW, we 4the Executive Director emailed me to call him to discuss. WHAT is there discuss.

I STAND BY HONEST REVIEW WHAT ELSE IS THERE TO SAY.

Beautiful facility and great dining room. Activities Director and social workers are good. However our family has a laundry list of reasons we loathe Pinnacle living and the on site management. We regret moving our parents to Cedarfield.
