Casa Cielo

Casa Cielo is a memory care community in the 4S Ranch area of San Diego, designed specifically for those living with Alzheimer's and other forms of dementia. The home offers a calming, enriching environment intended to help residents thrive, with an approach that focuses on what remains in each resident rather than what has been lost.

The residence is a small, six-resident home featuring all private rooms and two full-time care staff, with a care partner to resident ratio of 1:3. The secure outdoor space includes a fireplace, sitting area, covered eating area, an expansive garden, and numerous fruit trees.

Staff members are referred to as "care partners" rather than caretakers, reflecting the community's emphasis on partnership, trust, and empowerment between staff and residents. Care partners are selected through a selective hiring process intended to ensure a strong fit with residents and the home's approach to care.

Casa Cielo places significant emphasis on staff training, with care team members trained and tested on situations specific to Alzheimer's and dementia care, activities and engagement, and elderly nutrition. Staff are certified through the Alzheimer's Association essentiALZ program and trained in the CARES dementia approach, reflecting an ongoing commitment to developing care practices for residents.
