This is not the place for a healthy person Nor anyone needing any kind of assistance with functioning or 100% medicine compliance. This is a group home for people with disabilities that need accountability or they would be able to live well by themselves. It is NOT a retirement facility in the sense of someone aged, retired from an occupation and wants to spend retirement with their peers or who needs room and board that is within their meager means. Make no mistake, everyone here is on Social Security Disability and can not live alone, as they don’t have the skills for such. The promise of nursing staff round the clock is a fallacy. A nurse is state required twice a week and obviously not supervising medicine dispersal. It appears whomever is around at the time ‘offers’ Residents their medicine dose but obviously can’t insure it’s taken. Sometimes it is just left on their dresser of the resident while sleeping. The food/meal situation is abysmal as others have stated. Residents are allowed private rooms and all share the bathroom and communal spaces like TV room, smoking areas (apparently In front of building). Sadly, this is no place you would place a loved one. The stronger mentally healthy ones prey on the weaker ones. Many residents are on medicine and I can tell you from personal experience, my schizophrenic brother missed days of important doses, erratic behavior was overlooked til safety of others became an important issue. No ambulance service called, took him to Emergency Dept twice because of lack of taking his medicine. To this day he swears they gave him all his meds, but I digress. The last visit to the ER secured an admission for over a month before his medicine was finally stabilized and we moved him immediately to another facility that kept patient care first and foremost. We didn’t know then, but we know now what options we had for residency. It was one of the worse mistakes he and I have made in 20 years letting him live at this facility. Do yourselves a favor and do a walk thru before deciding which residence is best. This one is not.

My son was placed here 05-31-18, so far it doesn't sound good it sounds just like a review from a Rob Just.Today was his first full day there, for breakfast he had a bagel and a bananna... what type of breakfast is that with watery weak koolaid. Dinner he said was really good salmon croquets and baked potatoes, weak tasteless koo-aid and cheese cake.Oh yes for lunch they had egg salad. LAST NIGHT HE SAID THE DOORS WERE OPEN AND RESIDENTS WERE OUTSIDE ON THE FRONT OF THE BUILDING, NO STAFF THEY WERE LEFT ALONE. THE BACK DOOR WAS OPEN AS WELL. TODAY HE SAID SOME STAFF WAS THERE EARLIER AND PASSED MEDS, BUT THIS EVENING KITCHEN STAFF GAVE HIM HIS MEDS. sounds horrible, unsafe, and neglegent, leaving mentally ill people unsupervised. Is this how its suppose to be? Also a long piece of hair was on his breakfast plate with the bagel and bananna. How gross, no hair nets. He called me before dinner saying he was hungery this shouldn't be. If the conditions at this place doesn't change I WILL BE FILING A COMPLAINT AND REQUESTING AN INVESTIGATION. I AM NOT HAPPY NOR COMFORTABLE WITH MY SON BEING IN A PLACE WITH CONDITIONS LIKE THIS AND TAKING ALL OF HIS DISABILITY MONEY PLUS i'M SURE RECEIVING THOUSANDS FROM MEDICAID ALSO.

I am a resident at this retirement home. The staff is amazing and they care greatly for their residents. Location is good, the food is delicious, and the building is kept up very well. Also, cleanliness is incredibly important to the manager. They really seem to look after their patients and we receive our medicine in a timely manner. There have been many different homes in my life, but we are taken care of better than ever before here.

This is a for-profit group home for men, (not a retirement home for elderly). 32 residents in 5000 square feet. Limited assistance, one nurses aide supervises, not a nurse. Although they claim to be an assisted living facility, the requirement is that you are healthy and do not require assistance. A nurse stops by once or twice a week. No distribution of meds. The grocery shopper might be pocketing money because this is barely food. The worst-you've-ever-heard-about-city-people cook the food. Maybe a writer can make a movie. She might do some things nice but that doesn't make up for a total disregard for the comfort of the residents and their health and nutrition. Subhuman ingredients. No seconds allowed on food. Rationing of drinks. Koolaid instead of juice. Actually, Koolaid must be too expensive. An off brand. Nutrition requires a modicum of education, and is lacking. For the same price, I think they can get a county shopper, meal planner and cook. No cable tv which costs $50/month for the one small tv they have for 32 residents. Not the way to save money. Someone is pocketing this money, too. Due for an investigation. The address often used is 6811 Michigan, St. Louis, MO.
