I called Beth who runs the asst living devision twice, at least AFTER I MET with her FINALLY a month or so ago. She’s another one that can’t return calls, do I stopped calling! These places don’t seem to be responsible, capable, competent enough to do that these days. Their loss. She seemed to be in a hurry too. Not a very good tourist. Why do these places not return calls? It only takes a minute to do. People write reviews and they get downplayed after they’re read, really? Why can’t these places do their job in the first place! ☹️😑

After negative experiences with previous facilities with the care of my loved one, I was on guard when choosing for Canterbury for her care. The facility was always clean, smelled pleasant , staff was not only polite but also knowledgeable and helpful. My mother's stay was unexpectedly shorter than we expected but hopefully she will be able to come back. Everyone seemed to genuinely care for her, they are very responsive and also proactive. All staff was professional and I would recommend this place to everyone in need. By far 10/10 experience.

I would like to share my experience with Canterbury Senior Care Facility located at 9928 Vail Dr, Twinsburg, OH 44087. The members of the staff, including the doctors and nurses on staff, provide outstanding quality customer service 24/7 and are there within a minute to help me with all of my needs. Every staff member consistently has a positive, happy, and friendly attitude regardless of the task at hand. I would especially like to recognize Head Nurse Beth Prontiker, Clinical Coordinator of Assisted Living at Canterbury, for her professionalism, compassion, and dedication to resident care. From intake through my first month and continuing now, this has absolutely been the best care imaginable. These truly are my best years, and it is wonderful to have such a caring and supportive team on my side. Thank you so much for your professional, courteous care. I strongly advise against sending your loved one to Canterbury. My father was there for just five days, and during that short time, the experience was deeply troubling and unacceptable. My mom and I were present every day, from 8 AM until as late as 1 AM, to ensure he was cared for. The nursing staff only entered the room when explicitly asked, and even then, they treated our concerns as inconveniences. Unlike other facilities he’s been in, such as Hillcrest and Regency - where our involvement was welcomed and appreciated, Canterbury staff seemed irritated by our attentiveness. One nurse, while being asked for assistance, responded dismissively, saying, “Do you need something? I’m on my lunch break.” This was not an isolated incident. It was made very clear that the staff resented how involved we were in my father's care. Communication among staff was inconsistent and often contradictory. One nurse would tell us one thing, another would say the opposite. There was no sense of coordination or continuity of care. Most disturbingly, they over-suctioned my father when it was not medically necessary, resulting in trauma to his trachea and excessive bleeding. This was not only careless, it was dangerous and resulted in him going to the hospital. The lack of patient monitoring is alarming. It was only because we used our own pulse oximeter that we discovered my dad’s oxygen levels were dangerously low. When we informed the staff, instead of taking accountability, they responded defensively with, “WE’RE the caretakers!” - a statement clearly not backed by their actions. Families should be able to trust that their loved ones are receiving competent and compassionate care. At this facility, we felt neither reassured nor safe leaving my father in their hands.
