My mom has been at Calyx for almost a month in the memory care division. I have been very happy with how she has been treated so far; my mom has dementia and isn’t easy to handle. They keep her busy with activities! Her room is always clean, the staff is attentive and good with distracting and diverting her attention when she gets upset or has her “moments”. They have also been supportive of ME during this difficult transition (from my mom living with me the past 5 years and us being very close). Patricia (marketing) has been a Godsend, she is a wonderful and caring person and management is lucky to have her!
I love Lori (memory care); she goes above and beyond to comfort and reassure my mom when she is agitated. Also Tiffany and Victoria (memory care) and Joy (housekeeping) always put a smile on my face. I haven’t had a problem with anyone and really, they all deserve a mention.

Most memory care facilities can be dismal and depressing, and I think Calyx does everything they can to avoid that! I also love the art classes and exercise! The instructors are positive and patient with the residents. Food is so good, too! Hope this review helps someone who is considering placing a loved one. It took me a long time to do it, but it needed to happen and I believe it’s the right fit.

My Dad has resided at Calyx at Wakefield for almost a year now. The staff is kind and caring, making sure his life is as pleasant as they can make it. The residence itself is gorgeous.

Food is very good and my dad does not miss a meal. He frequently enjoys hanging around in the dining room after meals to socialize. Resident rooms have high ceilings and are spacious and bright. He enjoys sitting outside on his private patio in the garden area. Although there has been some turnovers with the caregiver staff, they have always been pleasant and very helpful to my dad. He told me that Calyx is the best place he could live after not being able to stay at home.
