I recently spoke with Shad, the Executive Director at Calyx Living of Apex, while exploring memory care options for my mother, who has dementia. We currently live in Ohio, and moving her closer to family is a major decision. From our very first conversation, Shad was incredibly knowledgeable, patient, and compassionate. He took the time to thoroughly explain what a memory care program is, how it supports residents with dementia, and what families can expect throughout the transition process. He answered all of my questions in a way that was easy to understand and helped ease many of the concerns I had about my mother's future care. What impressed me most was that I never felt rushed. Shad genuinely seemed to care about my mother's well-being and wanted to ensure I had the information needed to make the best decision for our family. His experience and understanding of dementia care gave me a great deal of confidence. If I am able to convince my mom to make the move, I feel comfortable knowing she would be in caring and capable hands with Shad and his team.
