Our 95 year old Nonni, Dorinda, is a resident at Brookside. Our family is extremely appreciative to leadership as well as the frontline staff for the compassionate and skilled care that she receives. It is clear that there is a culture of teamwork and respect for all residents. We have witnessed a marked improvement in her lack of anxiety, lowered blood pressure, sense of security, and overall happiness.

I have toured several places for my mom who has advanced Alzheimer's, and it was tough to find a right fit for her -- because despite her disease progression, she is still youthful, social, and I knew she would definitely not be happy just sitting in front of a TV most of the time. Brookside was the only place I found where I felt it matched her youthful energy. It's bright, fun, spacious with lots of things to see/do and space to wander, and I've loved every single one of the staff members I've personally met. They are so engaging with the residents.
I'm someone that feels that no place is "perfect" or an exact match for home, it's about finding the best fit you can find for your loved one where they can continue to enjoy their lives as much as they can. Brookside has been that for us. Thank you so much for all your care -- finding a good fit for my mom where she also felt happy and developed more of a social life was the biggest relief in the world!

My mother was in this facility from November 2025 to February 2026. During that time, she lost 18 pounds. She also fell multiple times, breaking her collar bone and breaking off a tooth. Her bowels became impacted resulting in an emergency room visit. I would not send my worst enemy here.

I did not realize what a memory care facility could – and should – do for its residents and families until I met Aldrin and Sachin at Brookside. After their intake evaluation of my dad, they asked me for a follow-up meeting. My first thought was that they might not accept my dad because of his history of elopement and associated behavioral concerns. But to my surprise, behavior never even came up. They wanted to discuss his history of falls and what they might be able to do to mitigate or prevent them. I went to that meeting assuming their first concern would be how my dad’s behavior would impact their staff, and it turned out they were more concerned about how they could have a positive impact on my dad’s safety. They proceeded to lay out several creative ideas on ways to make him safer; none of which had been proposed or mentioned by his previous facility.

Sadly, before my dad could move into Brookside, he passed away from complications after surgery on a broken hip due to another fall. I had paid the deposit at Brookside and was counting the days until I could get my dad into a safer environment. I would have gladly forfeited that deposit; the peace of mind it gave me while my dad was hospitalized knowing that he would have a safe place to go home to was priceless. But without any prompting from me, Brookside volunteered that they would return my deposit, even though contractually it was their due. Take a moment to ask yourself if the senior care chain you might be considering would do the same. And if you then imagine how that gesture translates into staffing levels and care giving, I think the choice becomes a no-brainer.

I have been in the senior housing industry for 25 years and recently retired. This community has impressed me since the day they opened. They have some of the best activity programs I have seen and I have been to 80% of all the communities in the Portland Metro area. They have well trained and very caring staff. I was in the community at least 40 times in the past few years. I always observed attentive, tender care. The owners are great and Aldrin could not be kinder. I enthusiastically give them 5 stars.
