About British Home Rehabilitation Services

British Home Rehabilitation Services is a 72-bed skilled nursing and long-term care facility in Brookfield, Illinois. It serves patients recovering from hospitalization or needing ongoing medical support, with a particular focus on rehabilitation therapy.

Family experiences at the facility are sharply divided. Positive reviewers consistently praise the clinical care, noting that staff, particularly nurses, CNAs, and therapy teams, are attentive, responsive to call buttons, and personable. One family wrote the staff "were super friendly" during an unannounced visit, and multiple families highlighted how staff use first names to create a warm atmosphere. Several reviewers recovering from serious conditions (falls, accidents, low mobility) credited the facility's therapy teams with meaningful progress. Food quality and overall cleanliness also received favorable mention. However, a substantial minority of families report serious concerns: inadequate staffing levels, slow or ignored call-bell responses, and rapid declines in patients' condition during stays. One reviewer noted staffing shortages and questioned the quality of nursing personnel, while another described a family member's condition deteriorating significantly within a week.

The facility holds a 3.9 out of 5 rating across 51 Google reviews, reflecting this split in family satisfaction. Prospective residents and their families should expect variable care quality depending on the specific unit and staff present during their stay.

I came here after experiencing several falls and aches, and there was concerns that I might’ve had a heart attack. During my stay, the therapy team has been outstanding, providing constant encouragement and helping me regain my strength, both physically and emotionally. Everyone has been very attentive, and the care has been excellent. The nursing staff has been attentive and the facility is exceptionally clean and well maintain which made my stay Comfortable and pleasant. The only thing I would note is that the food could be improved, but overall, I would highly recommend this place to anyone in need of rehabilitation and care.

I came in by ambulance and everything went smoothly from the moment I arrived. The staff went out of their way to make things convenient and comfortable for me ,especially thatI couldn’t sit up in the bed, they went out of their way and brought me in a reclining chair in my room so I could rest more easily. Everyone here was very kind from the Cnas to the nurses. The food was good and the staff was always accommodating to my needs. The therapist team made me feel stronger, worked very well together as a team. Overall, my experience was very positive.
