I recently had the pleasure of visiting Berkeley Nursing Home, and I can confidently say it’s a delightful little haven. This facility primarily caters to individuals aged 55 and up, offering a calm and pleasant atmosphere that feels more like home than a traditional nursing facility. The intimate size of the home is one of its chief charms. While it may not be luxurious, it is comfortable and inviting, creating an ideal environment for residents who appreciate a personal touch. One standout feature is the cozy outdoor garden patio, which provides a lovely space for residents to enjoy fresh air and nature. Additionally, there's a stunning wall-to-wall birdcage filled with colorful birds that adds a joyful ambiance for everyone. Management is consistently available and approachable, ensuring both residents and their families feel supported and heard. It’s worth mentioning that Berkeley Nursing Home does not accept patients with mental health diagnoses or behavioral issues, which is an important consideration for some families. For those seeking a serene and nurturing environment for their loved ones, Berkeley Nursing Home is truly a standout choice.

I was the primary caregiver for my great-aunt for approximately a year and a half, prior to her coming to Berkeley N.R. When it was time for us to locate a locale, long-term facility for her, I was fortunate that I remembered volunteering here over 10 years ago. From the first phone conversation with Phil (Administrator) I was treated with kindness and compassion. The second person that I encountered, when I went for a visit, was Elizabeth Morales (Admissions Director). Elizabeth’s warm spirit and wonderful assistance with the intake process, gave me confidence that this was the place for my auntie. It’s been 3 months now, and I have no complaints about anything. I can tell that my aunt is well taken care of - always clean, well fed, dressed and transferred from her room to the social room on a regular basis. She has a glow and is still just as feisty as ever. On more than one occasion, there have been CNA’s that have given me positive feedback about how they enjoy working with my aunt. The facility is very clean. Could some things use a little updating? Yes. However, on multiple visits, I have witnessed Avery (Maintenance), at work, sprucing up the facility and I can tell that he takes pride in his work. Ms. Bernado (Director of Nurses) Natasha and Lucas (😘) keep me abreast of my aunt’s dietary intake and/or medical/health concerns and Mark (Dietitian) has been open to my suggestions about her nutritional intake. I saw other reviews mentioning the “family atmosphere”, and I concur, it really feels like family here. It appears that everyone enjoys working here and with each other. I pray that the culture only gets better and that GOD will continue to bless them for their gifts of service and care that they distribute so selflessly to their precious residents. Looking for clean, professional and compassionate, long-term care facility for yourself or loved one(s)? Check out Berkeley Nursing and Rehabilitation. ❤️

When my mother had to move from assisted living to skilled nursing it was a very stressful decision. It is so hard to determine what will be the best place for your loved one. Thankfully she landed at Berkeley. The nurses, CNA’s and administrators are all amazing. They have made recommendations for better care and let me know in a timely manner of any issues. I feel like they know my Mom and care for her with caring and compassion. I have peace of mind and know she is in the best of hands.

This nursing facility does not deserve one star. Joseph Blisko is the main owner of this nursing home facility while living in a home worth approximately $1 million, his focus is on minimal staff. There have been numerous times where only two CNA's were staffed to the floor for 50-64 patients. During my grandmother's stay here, went through three Administrators and three Director of Nurses. My grandmother transferred with a right leg amputation and left the facility for the emergency room with threatening a left leg amputation, NINE WOUNDS, one wound on secrum at a stage four. Please don't send any generic updates or comments that are untrue to this post. I have pictures. NOT ONE NURSE OR STAFF notified me of the wound on my grandmother's private area. PURE neglect.. I believed this facility to not only abuse the patients but staff as well - however it is sad!!!! That not one human lobbied for my grandmother.

To Owner, it took you over one year to respond stating things as "you know".

Yes, I am aware that you under pay staff and you have no respect for your staff even cheating some of them which does not enable a motivated staff. I witnessed 2 CNA nurses being staffed to care for 55+ patients.. this is not their fault. It is YOUR FAULT..THE OWNER!!! I blame the State as well since they do nothing but document and allow you to continue to run this business. You went through 3 administator's... one day you will be shut down. I hope you don't have to live in a nursing home!!!! My grandmother and many others died as a result of direct neglect from YOUR STAFF. Five years now since my grandmother's death.

9/28/25 this facility was ordered to pay a law suit filed by my uncle for negligence due to the lack of care my grandmother received. Of course you guys did not pay!!!! Maybe the political leadership can focus some attention on the nursing home owners, legal system, and news the break up the scam and poor nursing home services provided in the United States.. clearly it's not only this facility but this is the one that killed my grandmother.
