This Place is an Actual Prison they will put you on a ton of drugs/ medications no sunlight prison food and they hope you go crazy so they can keep you their longer everyone in there is trying to escape. When I was there 2 years ago many other people in there with me said New York City prisons treated them better! Report them for abuse!

It is after an in-depth consideration, and reflection, that I adequately see exactly how instrumental the Recovery Center at BNBMC, has played a part in my recovery. It all begins with the staff. They are truly exemplary, and most proficient in their chosen fields. I feel that my words would do a disservice to put in prospective, how essential these CPRS played, not only in achieving sobriety, however more importantly, and more difficult to maintain my recovery. The personnel, the programs provided, the loving environment, and the overall sharing experience by the Peer Recovery Specialists, was not only foundational, but life saving as well. My heart overflows with gratitude to (no particular order) Christine, Gary, Lisa, Tina, Ralph, Melissa, Nathaniel, and Jayson. They are truly, prime examples of the type of individuals necessary to assure the afflicted, that there is hope, and a bright sunrise on the horizon of the darkest dawn. Their influence is so great, that I myself, as a person in recovery, is in the midst of ascertaining my certification to become a Peer Recovery Specialist. Thank you one and all, you "Angels of Mercy." Job well done.

I started going to the Recovery Center early January and when I arrived, I was a hot mess. I felt alone, lost, confused about my inability to get off certain substances. I met one of the peer recovery specialist at an NA meeting, Melissa, and she guided me to Nathan, a current peer recovery specialist. Nathan helped me with understanding my addiction and therefore, after not completing their detox program, I returned. Because of my perseverance did a complete 180. Things got rough eventually because of the insecurities of Tina, Ralph and even their supervisor Christine. Whatever logic they were using regarding recovery was so backwards. They appeared to resent my strength, rapid growth, and eventually exhibited controlling tactics to keep the chaos active. Tina was very passive aggressive and within 1 month, I and 2 other people issued complaints against her. She uses items as control tokens - its so immature and odd. Ralph was more quiet, still insecure and manipulative, and eventually lied on me. Christine let a simple request escalate for 4 weeks because she just didn't want to help reinforce a boundary for me. Unfortunately, that left a bad taste in my mouth despite their Superior Michael being gracious and helpful. It's unfortunate. This is people's lives at risk. It's not a game. So I had to tell my story.

I have been a patient of the out patient behavioral heath for years now. I recently had major surgery and was unable to make an appt within the 3 month policy they have for their patients. I called today to make an appointment and I got bounced around saying they can’t make an appointment for me since it’s been over 3 month and my chart might be closed. I find it very inconvenient that they only give their patients 3 months to make an appt. My doctor has been filling my refills this whole time so my chart must not be closed. All the receptionists I spoke to on the phone were not nice and proceeded to argue with me that they can’t help me. I wanted a telemed appt since I work for a doctors office the same times as the behavioral health clinic and I’m unable to come into the office in person. How is a patient able to get help when no one is willing to help make an appt. I am very disappointed and upset by this. All I want is the help I need from my doctor but the front desk staff is not willing to help.

The F1 Unit at Bergen New Bridge Medical Center changed my life! I wouldn't say that I entered the program completely willing. The staff on this unit went above the call of duty and for that I will be forever grateful. That is from the clinical staff, the therapists, the MHA's, Peer Recovery etc, but here are some that I would like to acknowledge personally and I truly am sorry if I forgot anyone..thank you T, Sarah Jane, Rosalie, Ms. Cynthia;Nursing staff Maria, Carla, Minnie, Christian, Tilu, Donna, Yolanda, Barbara, Terry Ann;Peer Recovery -Charles, Nathan, Gary; the Recreational Therapist Corynn and Jerry and ; Administration, Tiffany and the many peers that came back to offer what was so genuinely given to them, the gift of Recovery.
